Guest guest
Suzi – Prior to stepping on the nail, I was eating low carb, no white flour/sugar/processed food; almost all fruits and vegetables (although a lot of the vegetables were cooked) and protein in the form of organic/free range chicken, beef and eggs. Very little dairy except for organic butter, some cottage cheese, some yogurt. I eat no dairy now except for organic butter. I was a large Diet Rite drinker, but I quit the soda cold turkey last Thanksgiving and haven’t drunk any since. I don’t drink milk. I used to drink a lot of herbal tea, but have gotten away from the tea and am downing close to a gallon of water a day and have been drinking that much since at least February of this year. I drink water almost exclusively and it is never tap water, it is bottled spring or distilled. I do have a cup of herbal tea on my desk at the moment and this is the first cup of hot tea I’ve made to drink in weeks. I don’t use artificial sweeteners – I use Sweetleaf Stevia Plus. All in all, I eat much healthier than a lot of people I know. I buy organic as much as possible. I’m 44. Well, that’s my chronological age but mentally I’ve been stuck at 29 more years now than my Grandma was, LOL Don’t have a neti pot but I have a nasal bulb/syringe thingy and I used to be very, very faithful to mix up a batch of warm water with a handful of sea salt in it and flush my sinuses morning and night. Weekends I would flush them out multiple times a day, and the green gobs that would come out horrified me. I have been working so much overtime the last 5 months that my life has not been my own and I got out of the habit of the sinus flushing. I definitely need to start that regime back up because when I did do the salt water sinus flush, my head would be clear for 2-3 hours before it would start to congest again. I haven’t flushed my sinuses daily for about 2 ½ months now, but try every few days and the weekends. I tried using Colloidal Silver in place of the salt and found it burned too much. I don’t know if I was using too much or what. I don’t take Complete Nutrition or Super Tonic because I simply have not had the time to stop and make any. If anyone has any for sale, please contact me. I work for the federal government and I worked 72 hours overtime the month of April, 52 hours overtime the month of March and January, February and May I didn’t count for fear of what the number might be, LOL. Last week I took a leave of absence and will be out of there for a bit. I began to blame the sinus trouble on the building I worked in – recycled air, no windows, no fresh air, sick building with a lot of people sick all of the time. The lemonade cleanse I did in December was the last one I stayed on multiple days. I’ve done 3 juice fasts since February that lasted the weekend or three days. I’ve also done 2 water fasts the last few months where I drank nothing but water for 3-4 days. I own a Jack LaLanne juicer and I do a lot of fruit juice – apples and other fruit mixed together. Last week I bought many jars of organic cranberry concentrate and I intend to do a two week long fat flush where I will drink massive amounts of cranberry juice made from the concentrate and eat only sparingly and only raw fruits and vegetables. Even with all the work I usually felt pretty good, and I attributed that the way I was eating. The last couple of months I have began to feel extremely tired, all the time, yet am unable to sleep well at night and I know it is because I wake up, stuffed up or nose clogged solid and hard to breathe. I take garlic every day, fish oil, Vitex, liquid B vitamins, Ester C and cayenne. I also use a natural Progesterone cream. Every couple of days I take MSM powder in water. I’ve been on this supplement regime since January. I recently started taking Chromium daily, along with a double dose of Bilberry because of changes in my vision I’ve attributed to the sinus infection or the many working hours on the computer these past months. I’ve taken Echinacea in the past and just a few days ago started taking it three times a day, hoping it might help. All supplements I take are organic or natural and have no added ingredients or fillers, wheat, soy, etc. The doc came to the conclusion the sinus trouble was allergies but I stopped short of the massive allergy testing he wanted me to do. The MRI was enough. I buckled under to the Augmentin because of the hours I was working and I was sick – I thought it would help and the two week, 4000 mgs. daily did seem to do something. The infection went from green and a constant clog to clear drainage, but a week off the meds and everything was back with a vengenence. That’s when I gave up and just kept plodding along, knowing I was going to be in a situation to take off work for awhile and hoping I could get myself over this at that time. Thanks for your time – L. -----Original Message----- From: health [mailto:health ] On Behalf Of Suzanne Sent: Wednesday, June 29, 2005 10:18 PM To: health Subject: RE: tetanus shot , how was your eating habits prior to this? and how old are you?
