Guest guest
I wanted to ask if anyone knows if there is anything I can pick up at the supermarket which might have a laxative effect for my cat Peep. Toni, Do you have any milk? I know you eat raw and all that but milk can sometimes get those bowels moving in a cat. I am trying to think of any inexpensive things I've tried with feline constipation. Don't give him anything that you buy in the supermarket, especially something for humans. Dr. Pitcairn, the holistic vet recommends giving constipated cats 2 tsp. of olive oil 2x a day. If you have an eye dropper you can get that down him. Until you can take care of the worm thing, you want to at least make sure he's having bowel movements. Gloria
Guest guest
Thanks Glor! I have parmalat here as well as soymilk. I was putting some olive oil on his food but as hungry as he is, he is not wanting to eat much of anything I am giving him. He is probably going to sniff any food with olive oil on it and not eat it anyway. Buy him a can of tuna....nice and smelly. I always have cans of tuna (altho I don't eat it), on hand for when I want to disguise something. You might try putting some olive oil on his food and then a big blob of the canned tuna over that, mix it all up and see if he'll eat it. If not, you may just have to do it with an eye dropper. BTW...If he has fleas, he probably has worms. The 2 go hand in hand. Gloria

Guest guest
pure pumpkin would help.. Slippery elm also.as a gruel.Tone <tone102@...> wrote: Good Afternoon Everyone, I pray this Tuesday finds you well and best wishes to those that aren't. A wee bit hot today but in my book beats Winter so no complaining I wanted to ask if anyone knows if there is anything I can pick up at the supermarket which might have a laxative effect for my cat Peep. He has a really bad worm issue (poor baby) and I honestly do not think he is going. I am going to be ordering some things for him in a few days when I can get the money but in the meantime, this is all just agony. This is the worse that I have seen it. Not seeing them physically as I am not following him (he is outside) to watch him go but you can see by his little behind that they are bad and the matting which from what I have read is a parasite issue. Any advice would be so very much appreciated...as always OH and the stuff that I am looking to get for his worms also says that it can be applied on the animals fur to help with fleas and such. Thanks Gloria for pointing me to The Pet Medicine Chest. Best wishes to you and Oreo. Suzi What is a weed? Guest guest
Milk works for some cats but not all.. water is very important... canned pumpkin is a good thing to try. If Peep goes longer than 48 hours without going I would suggest a trip to the vet right away. Suzi Suzi What is a weed? Guest guest
Hi Tone – I would probably try acidophilus. Bifidus, which is another good probiotic, is good for diarrhea. My cats get both every day, actually a combo of the acid & bif plus other probiotics. I just sprinkle it on their food every day, along with enzymes. Carol From: " Tone " <tone102@...> Morning Carol, Thankyou. Anything in specific that you think would be good for him? Appreciate the info.
