Guest guest
Hi Barb, and welcome! First thing is what meds is your mom taking? Second, putting her on a raw diet, juicing, drinking lots of water, garlic cloves, cayenne pepppers would do wonders... Make some super tonic.. she can probably take that every day... but I would like to see a list of what she is taking... Even epsom salt baths would be good... I would then suggest she see a naturopath on cleansing and detoxing and weaning off the drugs. Suzithemainers <themainers@...> wrote: I've been a lurker here for a few months and love this group. You are all so knowledgable and it's a joy to be a part of it.My mom who is very overweight, diabetic, high blood pressure etc has what the doctor thinks (I don't think he actually examined her but listened to her description of the symptoms) is cellulitis. Her elbow was so swelled up she couldn't feel the bone. They prescribed antibiotics of course, but after a little over a week it is still swollen (not near as bad). I was hoping for some recommendations to help her. She worries because she already takes so many pills so I want to be careful what I tell her. I did suggest hot compresses but beyond that I didn't know. Can anyone help? Suzi What is a weed? She will also need to overhaul her diet totally. Antibiotics are not going to do anything for what she is exhibiting with her elbow. The reason her elbow is is so swollen is her body is attempting to force out toxins. I have seen this with many people who eat SAD or worse. Over time the body just builds up too much mucus and poisons. The body stores these anywhere it can. This is why so many people suffer degenerative diseases. Swollen joints are just another example of too much being stuffed in there. When we consume way more than our bodies need and we don't allow for proper elimination, well it all has to go somewhere. If she is willing to make the changes necessary and take control of her own health then she has a chance to overcome all of this. Otherwise, she will continue to be subservient to the medical establishment and a victim of their whims. Her health is up to her and it is her choice. She may be willing to take the reins and do what is necessary. If not all you can do is understand that it is her choice to make. -- Peace be with you, Barb. Guest guest
I know what you are saying but she is my mom and I guess even small stuff can help. She will never do the raw (she only at 58 years started eating green beans and a little asparagas) diet or juicing because she is like a kid "yuck, it doesn't taste good". I did tell her she should try the epsom salts, told her to get some echinacea, garlic and cayenne from the health food store and add it to her diet. She also works out once a week with a personal trainer for an hour doing weights and a little cardio. She uses a walker and must wear leg braces because of drop foot syndrome. I know it's bad and I can't force her, but little by little I keep trying to open her eyes. If anyone else has any other suggestions it would be very appreciated. I'm afraid for her health but do realize she is the only one who can change it. Thanks for your input. Guest guest
Barb, Tell your mom I'm 52 and there are others here older than me who have changed their health by changing their eating habits... Ask her how long she wants to be around for? It's up to her. IT's never too late to change These will only be bandaids if she doesn't start changing her diet. I'll bet her personal trainer would tell her the same. Suzibarb g <themainers@...> wrote: I know what you are saying but she is my mom and I guess even small stuff can help.
