Diotomaceous earth (a white powder) works quite well for fleas, ticks and other

creepy crawlies with hard shells. Works great in the garden, in the home (safely

- it's completely NON TOXIC!). People can even take it and give to pets in food

to get rid of internal parasites!

search so here's a head start to any link you want from this page. Sorry about

that pricey vet bill, but here's some cheaper remedies I believe. Keep us

posted Gloria. Maybe also getting onto a group for cats alternative

treatments. Just thoughts here. Poor cat....good mom!

I just went to the vet to the tune of $115 for my cat. I had no choice. I have

one cat that is severely allergic to fleas (t's unbelievable). For 2 weeks he

has been hiding in corners and closets, urinating all over the house and

himself, and chewing himself raw and bloody. Last year he went down to skin and

bones from anemia caused by the flea bites. It's a nightmare. Last year I

resorted to having the vet put Frontline on him and, in all honesty, it probably

saved his life. This year I found myself in the exact same boat and requested

Advantage. I read a holistic vet book and they said if you MUST resort to meds,

Advantage is less toxic than Frontline. She also gave him a B vitamin shot for

the anemia (from the fleas). He's 14 and in no way going to eat raw, so that's

out. I have tried garlic, yeast, everything I can think of but nothing helps

this guy except flea medication. If anyone has something

Thanks!!!

up to you to judge what is happening in your own body. Do not use the Zapper if

you are pregnant or use a heart pacemaker!

thanks Mendy,

that is very helpful. I have 2 eucaluptus trees in my yard, you can get the leaves in bulk at any health food store too. Also pennyroyal is great to keep these buggers away. I also have this growing in my garden. You can get these essential oils as well and put it on the places where the animal sleeps.

Hi,At one time I lived a block from the beach in San Francisco and thefleas (sand fleas) drove us and our cats nuts. I then discovered awonderful remedy.Eucalyptus leaves kill fleas. Because they are toxic to animals youmust be sure they can't eat them. We put them in pillow cases undermattresses, couch cushions and down the sides of chairs. As long asthe fleas could sense them and the animals couldn't get to them it wasfine. We used the eucalyptus oil soap, bought at the health foodstore, for carpet areas and places we couldn't put the pillow cases. When it dried it kept the fleas away for months. Garlic and brewers yeast in the diet also helps a lot but sometimesit's difficult to get an animal to eat garlic.I hope this helps,Mendy
