Guest guest
Healing methods blend together in interesting ways. A number of herbalists I know who also do reiki use it on their tinctures to amp up the healing potential of the herb. The water in the mix is an awesome carrier for the healing energies (see some of the water research done by that japanese fellow presented in the movie " What the Bleep is Going On " for a fascinating take on that). The tea or tinctures can act stronger with a zap than if left unzapped. " Wow, that's a lot stronger, what do you do different when you make your tincture? " " Oh, I grow it biointensively with lots of compost. The plants are much healthier and have more nutrients available that way so of course they are going to be stronger. " Some of the same people report when doing an energy treatment, intuitive flashes of what herbs the person needs spontaneously come. So this hits that discussion we had earlier, sometimes one method works best with a person while another time something else works better. It also opens up the world of plant spirit medicine, as is presented by Eliot (was that his name?) in a book by that title. People who are really good at that don't always need the physical component of the herb to do the treatment. For those who aren't comfortable with the more esoteric side of the wholistic health movement we don't have to look very far to find nearly the same teachings in our own cultural background. Read between the lines stories of Dr.. Regularly patients would come in and he would pray and a formula would come. In his book, the School of Natural Healing, there is the story of a mother trying to find help for her daughter. " As Ray listened to this desperate mother, he offered a silent prayer for help and " a formula immediately came to my mind " , as he related it. He jotted the herbs down and gave the mother complete instructions on how to make and apply the fomentations and tea and sent her to the herb shop to get them. " That's how the BF & C formula came to be which is now a potent herbal classic. I've seen a number of other formulations come to be in a similiar manner. Balance is vital with this. There's a balance with physical on one side and spiritual on the other. Folks who go too far towards one side or another get lopsided and ineffective. A mentor recommended train one side until your skills plateau out (which always happens) and then train the other side until that plateus out. Keep training one side, then the other. Mastery is born of this.
