Just slap a hot wet one where it hurts and ....Hush Guido we don't need any comebacks from you. Seriously though, the tannins help to shrink the hemorrhoidal tissue. I have found that drinking a cup or two of hot black tea will make mine disappear within two days time. I used to suffer terribly and tried every OTC product there is, to no avail. Then one day I happened to slam down a cup or two of tea and the next day no hemorrhoids. Course now all this was in my eating cooked food days. I don't have that problem anymore cause I don't strain. Also the tannins will help to pull out the infection from a stepped on rusty nail. I know this first hand. When I was a youngster I stepped on a rusty nail and my foot was the size of a football within several hours time. Well, it happened to be night time and too late for the doctor with his ever loving needle of .....So my dad in his infinite wisdom filled a large pot with (from my persepective) boiling hot water and threw in about 12 tea bags or so. Then he made me stick my foot in there. Whoooooeeee was that hot. After about a half hour of tap dancing around the top of the pot I was able to get my foot into the water. Felt really hot but good. Left it in there until the water got cold and then went to bed. By morning the swelling was gone totally. No red streaks or gangrene or anything. Gone and was totally fine out running all over the place. -- Peace be with you, Sue.
