Guest guest
I know there are members who have it... I don't.... I believe it is pretty good. I have a blender, a Jack Lalaine juicer, a dehydrator, spirooli, coffee grinder, etc... but no vitamix.. SuziRose Baumann <rose@...> wrote: Hi All.I am looking into buying a Vitamix. Guest guest
Have one, love it, love it, love it! I have one of the first "new" models they came out with about 10 years ago (not the metal canister type). I have only had to replace one $5 part this entire time and I use it at least once a day and when doing classes or experimenting new recipes it gets used multiple times in a day. I have the Total Nutrition Center with the variable speed option. Don't remember what I paid for it as I bought it at a home show and got a good deal. I do not have the dry container. I did but I never used it so sold it. Last week I was in a restaurant store and saw six different models. Had no idea there were that many available, but they were over $600. I know mine was no where near that, maybe around $400 or less back then. There is also the K-Tec that is a very good machine and I would like to have one of those for side by side comparison. You can see one at www.rawgourmet.com Shari
Guest guest
I have a similar one to Carol. I would just get the newest one available. They only improve with each upgrade anad they are great. You can even make hot soup without compromising vitamins in it. maryCarol Minnick <carolminnick@...> wrote: Hi Rose, I have a Vita Mix. Actually, I didn’t know there were different models. I’ve had mine about 8 or so years and use it pretty much every day. The one I got has two “hoppers” – one for grinding grain, and one for everything else. I’ve gotten rid of my other blender, and my little food processor. This does everything, except mash potatoes and slice stuff (like sliced cukes). It is so powerful, in my smoothies I even use the center core of a pineapple and it smooshes it up very fine. I put in flax seeds and you would never even know they are in there. It makes sorbets, and it makes soup – just depends on how long you let it run. The only problem I have with it is that it is loud. New ones are guaranteed 7 years, and whatever problem you have they will take care of it. It’s a very nice company to deal with. Carol M. From: Rose Baumann <rose@...> Hi All. Guest guest
Hi Rose, I have a Vitamix 4000 which I bought on eBay about 6 months ago for around 225. It has the stainless steel bin used for wet and dry. I absolutely love it. We make smoothies, soup, I grind my own wheat for whole wheat bread. I blend up my garbage for fast composting. At first I was scared to buy one since it was costly and I thought I might not use it but we use it several times a week. I have never regretted it for an instant. Good luck shopping and hope this helps. Barb Rose Baumann <rose@...> wrote: Hi All.I am looking into buying a Vitamix. Does anyone have one? Your personal review?
