Guest guest
Hi , I am a student of TCM. I have used an Herbal Formula and acupuncture for kidney stones....acute attack. I had a friend solve her GB symptoms with the following Li Dan support formula. I'm not familiar with the product you mention. Is " she " a TCM practitioner? ....naturopath? ....MD? This is the formula, Li Dan Pai Shi Pian, you can show your practioner. I'm sending this link for info only. (Looks like they only sell in bulk, anyway) It may be the same as she prescribed...but I don't see any disclosure as to the ingredients. Note the caution: http://www.china-guide.com/health/hr00ga1.html If she says it's OK to take this formula I'd take it in the Kan Herbals. http://www.china-guide.com/health/hr00ga1.html They have 3 sizes. I wanted to recommend the tincture which would be faster acting but it doesn't seem to be available on the net. They may feel you need to see a practitioner to get it...to evaluate your entire state of health. I would definitely work to keep your GB...unless there is urgency in the surgery. Guest guest
I did the flush and had 4 gallstones come out the next morning in my stools and a 3-4 month constant pain in my side disappeared. My mom had 2 gallstones come out when she did hers. Take what the doctor said with a grain of salt. The problems that the liver/gallbladder flush deal with is a $14 BILLION dollar industry that isn't going to encourage research on a simple at home remedy that anyone can do. I don't know how much cash they made off removing my Dad's gallbladder but it's a tragedy that a little bit of awareness and knowledge could have easily prevented. Check out www.curezone.com for instructions on the liver/gallbladder flush and a whole lot about other people's experience with it before you write it off as something you don't want to do. Even with the flush, I had to do some diet changes. Too many eggs in the morning (we have chickens and fresh eggs) over a period of months contributed a lot to the pain. Cutting down on egg consumption seemed to be enough for me. Sounds like you have a handle on that end.
Guest guest
Kit, Thanks for your reply. The formula I am on is Chuan Lian Zi. The practioner I saw is a licensed MD. I believe she also has some acupuncture training and considers herself an integrative family doctor. I just met her on Monday, so I'm not sure what other training she has had. She is about 2 1/2 hours away from where I live, where I was on vacation at my mom's house during the attack that sent me to the ER. I can call her for a follow up as needed, but an office visit would be difficult at this time. I do have a local DOM (Doctor of Oriental Medicine). She treated me last month for gallbladder related attacks before I had a medical diagnosis and it helped tremendously. My DOM also does Reiki and other healing therapies. She is very energetically sensitive and does prescribe herbs. I am more likely to continue to seek treatment through her once I feel free to move without a Western Allopath. I just wanted to make sure an integrative doctor wouldn't send me to the surgeon. I have read the stories of those who have had gallbladder surgery and I'm not convinced that it is really a quick or easy option. I'd rather keep my gallbladder unless it gets to a place where it really needs to be removed. I just not sure at this point if what I'm doing is getting better or avoiding further attacks. > > Hi , > > I am a student of TCM. Guest guest
Check out "Cleansing or Surgery" @ CleansingOrSurgery.com I ordered the booklet and it makes a lot of sense. Personally, however, the cleanse has never been productive for me as I cannot keep all the olive oil and lemon juice down. I drink it according to the directions and go to bed. I start at 7 p.m. and by 3 a.m. I am up calling for Ralph and most all the oil and juice returns. It's happened all three times I've tried so I don't do them any longer. Guest guest
Shari, Thanks for the link and your personal experience. It does sound a bit stressful to do a cleanse when one is recovering from the pain of gallbladder attacks. I'm trying to keep everything down. My integrative doctor also recommended a water/salt flush, but I don't know if I can take the strain of that right now. I'm still not eating much, but that may be partially fear of pain and partially adjusting my tastes to healthier foods. Maybe it is an intuitive partial fast to not burden my system. > Check out " Cleansing or Surgery " @ CleansingOrSurgery.com > > I ordered the booklet and it makes a lot of sense. > > Personally, however, the cleanse has never been productive for me as I cannot keep all the olive oil and lemon juice down. Guest guest
Hi , Well, the Chuan Lian Zi thru me at first, since it is a single herb. I hunted around some more and found the ingredients in GB 6. It's obviously a proprietary formula...in as much as it's in a pill form. It should work. I might use something different...... that's why they call TCM a healing art..... still, only with knowing the particulars of you and the problem. I mostly do custom formulas in the school clinic. Does your DOM do " raw " herbs? ....that is, the whole herb... ....or powders? ....or pills? Changing your diet will help tremendously. And, yes I'd get some support from your DOM... you can help spead the healing and get it under control til your new way of eating takes over. After, you get the acute stuff under control a good detox of the liver and colon is important to improve the GB function. Have you had any more attacks? I'm assuming there is no inflammation...or they would have been more urgent about treatment in the ER. Kit In health , " trobertabq " <TrobertABQ@a...> wrote: > Kit, > Thanks for your reply. Guest guest
, Do you have a juicer? If you can do it....about 75% raw foods would be good. Homemade uncooked applesauce...shredded beets. ...pears.... BTW: Were you a big on sugar in your ,ahem, previous life? People that eat lotsa sugar are more prone to gallstones. Guest guest
Welcome . On your diet, are your grains sprouted? is your soy organic? Cut down on oil if you are using any... also, if not a flush, Catnip nourishes the stomach and nerves. It calms the nervous system and is used also for digestion. Catnip herb has also been used to treat inflammation and help to eliminate toxins and dissolve stones in the gall bladder. A number of studies indicate that peppermint may aid in reducing the size of gallstones and thus help some people avoid surgery. Also known as a muscle relaxant and reduces inflammation. Try some peppermint tea. Barberry is one of the best remedies for correcting liver function and promoting the flow of bile. It is indicated when there is an inflammation of the gall bladder or in the presence of gallstones. When jaundice occurs due to a congested state of the liver, Barberry is also indicated. Studies show that the main ingredient berberine, activates the macrophages (literally, "big eaters"), white blood cells that devour harmful microorganisms. Suzi What is a weed? Guest guest
They didn't all last that long.....like 1-2 lasting a long time or several lasting only 20 minutes.....they varried that much. And yes I did change my diet because I could not eat much. Let's see 7 x 6 = 42 and the last time I checked there were only 24 hours in a day. Not to be a snot, but did you ever try a radical diet change? I'm talking NO dairy, eggs, meat, poultry, fish, oil of ANY sort, just fresh fruit and vegetables? And I'm talking FRESH like shopping today and eating today, not frozen, not canned. Sorry if you've already explained this, but I have found that people who have such challenges usually are unable to be completely honest with me about their diet. Was working with a woman one time and she thought live living foods were cold. So she proceeded to eat potato chips, salsa from the store (read that as COOKED salsa), guacamole from a can (COOKED), fruit juice from a bottle (COOKED), carrot juice in a powder (COOKED), tofu (BAD COOKED), etc.... It's all about education. Shari
