Cats can eat veggies,. in fact in the wild they would eat the stomach contents of their prey which would include partly digested veggies. I give my cats steamed pumpkin pureed with raw mixed greens, they get a small amount mixed into meat every day. Pumpkin is recommended for cats as a fermentable fibre that helps with digestion, it is also excellent for a cat with loose bowels and also with constipation, works for both. best regards Persian -- " As long as people will shed the blood of innocent creatures there can be no peace, no liberty, no harmony between people. Guest guest
Hey Persian, Hope all is well with you. I just assumed that since Cats were carnivores, that they should not or would not eat veggies. Pumpkin is seasonal here but what other veggies would be good? I am willing to do anything for the sake of their health though I imagine this might not be too easy since they have not been eating them all along. Amazingly though, both have never had a cold or anything and Winters can get pretty tough though where I rent there is an enclosed porch where they can shelter to. Thankyou so much Persian. Always appreciate the info Have a wonderful evening (day?) Guest guest
Persian, Instead of cooking the pumpkin could you put some water in a blender and the pumpkin to make it smooth and easy to take down. Maybe even a food processor, like my Cuisinart may work. Squash would be fabulous too and I'm thinking that nice hubbard when it is available. Just dropping in on your conversation. Try the greens also in blender. I see no reason to cook most of the time. Sadly my son's cat gets processed ham or lunch meat with his dry food. I don't think I have seen cat eat canned food there. Also the dog gets some too with his dry, nutrient deficient foods. Son grown man and refused to think "mom knows better then him" so he's making choices for his dog and cat. Yesterday he brought the dog over and said the dog is not eating. We had some elk/buffalo thawed and my son said he would not eat it...well dog fooled my son...he loved it and gulped it down wanting more and more. See sometimes the pet can know better than it's owner. carol........only a doggie person..........Persian <persian13@...> wrote: On Mon, Jun 27, 2005 at 11:20:15 -0400, tone102@... wrote:> I personally would not buy it either.
