However, I don't think that disease is likely to turn up in pet birds. Not that I know of. Harper

Nothing has changed. Nature is just as nature has always been and always will be. Man is making a vain attempt at destroying nature though and man will pay big time for that. For nature may take a lot of abuse but eventually she is going to take back what belongs to her and set things right. Birds do not cause disease and neither does fungus. It is our choices in diet and lifestyle that determine whether we are going to be ill or not. -- Peace be with you, Rica. Guest guest
Man is making a vain attempt at destroying nature I think man is making a vain attempt at controlling nature, to no avail. Moving river routes, chem trails, levees, dikes, shorelines, you name it; but Nature is King/Queen and will not be messed about. I studied with Waubun Wind many years ago and she taught the word of SunBear. He had a vision we were going to destroy ourselves with nuclear waste. Not a bomb or attack, but we were going to drown in nuclear caused disasters. I was not ready to hear that and did not stay with the studies. I do the books, somewhere. Might be time to bring them out again. Shari
Guest guest
We have a gang of gigantic crows in the neighborhood, and I've been feeding them, LOL. Guest guest
Sue, After my cervical spine surgery, the only place that I was comfortable was on my front porch in my rocker. Every day 4 crows would come. I named them Heckle and Jeckle, Hyde and Clyde. My grand-daughter asked, " Can you tell them apart? " I just laughed and shook my head. I was glad to have all of my vistors those days. Shirley > > > > My personal calmer is birds, I have many feeders in my yard. I sit on > > my porch and watch them and listen to them sing. Guest guest
I had the " pleasure " at the beginning of my dx of spending a lot of time in the hot tub (now I only like ice on my joints). We had a bird house that my 10 yr old built like 4 years ago hanging up basically as a decoration. I got to watch a mommy & daddy bird build a nest in it and have baby birds and I would watch for hours as they fed them. It was so relaxing and gave me something to look forward to. Guest guest
I have a bird feeder too and it is so cheering when you are having a 'down day', to see the birds outside my window. It is the very start of Spring here in NZ and the first fledgings are being brought to my feeder by Mum or Dad in NZ P.S: I'm so bird crazy that I make lard/suet 'muffins', mixed with millet, breadcrumbs or oats - nothing but the best bird cuisine! Guest guest
, Those lucky birds! Are they not a wonderful comfort? The cardinal's bring their broods to my yard and I watch them grow and get their color. My favoites are the Indigo Buntings though, gorgeous. They are all so prescious to me. This evening I sat on the porch and dodged hummers as they fought over the three feeders. It gets pretty exciting when there are about 8 to 10 to dodge!
