,

I am so sorry to hear of your back. If you can, do as much simple stretching as you can. If I could massage myself, I'd be in Heaven...lol I have amazing hands. I had several ruptured disks from numerous car accidents and I get alot of back pain. I stretch and always seem to work it out. For me personally, I find that the more still I keep it., the worse it gets. Just don't overdue. I am pretty flexible where I can put palms to floor and feet on shoulder but that is not for everyone. Maybe a nice warm bath too.

Good luck Hon and feel better

I've been having a lot of lower back pain for several days. Chiro helped but then I had wood to stack, so I'm back to square one. See him again on Saturday. Does anyone know any exercises that would help strengthen that area and work out the pain?

I have a desk job and if I sit too long I can hardly walk, so you are right on that one for sure.

I was on vacation last week taking care of my grandson. I don't dare go home "sick".

Generally, exercises to strengthen the abdominals will protect the

back. I'm sure you already know about using your legs and not your

back when stacking wood. ;-)

know how one can get sedatives out of their system? I would rather not

elaborate on the cause but just wondering if there is something that

could clear it out.Coffee did nothing. Actually, I only had one cup

today. Just did not taste right.

Hi ,

I have had many back troubles and when I go to physical therapy, they

always want to know what makes it feel better: walking, sitting, lying.

If sitting is bad for you, then either don't sit (!) or get up a lot of times and

either bend over frontward or backwards--whichever makes you feel better.

I said chamomile just because it is relaxing and this tends to break the pain

cycle and relax the muscles which are always tensed up when something

goes wrong w/ your back.

Leaning over to stack wood: that sounds like the worst thing ever! Can you

just postpone that until you get better? Or find a young kid on vacation who

needs a few bucks (and the exercise) to do it for you!

Sending you healing energies,

Sue

I have the tea and will try the bends.

The word problem I will have to work out with DH and son. I never used to mind doing the work, but I hurt too much right now to even think about it.
