Guest guest
GSE is really a great antifungal and antiviral (and maybe antibiotic). I've been on it for over a month now. The only thing is that it slows down liver metabolism, so some medications may be affected (someone mentioned SSRIs). There's a group that uses mainly GSE to eliminate yeast. I accidentally found out that it kills cold viruses too! I had to stop taking GSE a few days ago so my liver could rest. I've been swallowing crushed garlic clove nightly, but I don't think it does much. I think garlic works better locally (i.e. vaginal yeast infections). I've never tried garlic extract pills, but I thought from what I read it has to be fresh garlic that's freshly crushed (within 30 min). I would assume you have to take a lot to be equivalent to 125mg GSE. If you have lots of candida then you might need to take 100 billion cells or more of probiotics daily. Start off at a lower dose since it can cause gas and diarrhea. It should be taken at least 2 hours away from GSE. Probiotics alone would probably take longer to kill yeast though unless you take a certain strain that kills candida. Have you looked into enzymes and probiotics that kill candida? Some off top of my head are Candidase by Enzymedica, Candex, Threelac (I think this was discussed before here that it's not really safe because it's a soil organism)... I used to take Nutrition Now's Yeast Defense before switching to full GSE (and oil of oregano). It (Yeast Defense) worked really great, and my chiropractor told me it's weak enough that I could take it daily longer-term. The probiotics in there are probably worthless because of the GSE (it kills the probiotics). It's an older way of treating yeast, but it did the trick for me (I just wanted to take something stronger to speed up my recovery). Major ingredients are caprylic acid, pau d'arco, deoderized garlic, and a bit of GSE.
