Guest guest
Christie, it's best to embrace the gas as part of your successful therapy. At least the program is working! Guest guest
Duncan, are you saying that the fiber is doing something good for me like with the bacteria in the intestines etc? If that is the case, should I try to spread the fiber out throughout the day or have more just a couple of times a day? Also, is it bad to take fiber like the coconut flour with fruit? I do have a 1/2cup fresh or frozen organic fruit each day and was putting in the flour in with my fruit drink. Is that a problem? Thanks for the help, Christie > > > > If eating fiber causes gas it is best to decrease daily fiber or > take > > something like Candidase by Enzymedica? > > > > Thanks, Christie > > >
Guest guest
i take enzymes with my " grains " (quinoa, amaranth, millet and buckwheat only are said to be safe on a candida diet), and with my seeds and nuts. when i am adhering to the diet properly, and my gut balance is good (doing home cultered milk with primal defense as starter, cultered veges and primal defense orally), then i usually have hardly any or no flatulence despite the fact that i am indeed eating a lot of fiber!!! i do my veges raw, which retains their enzyme action, all their life.. (i do take hcl with proteins or i would have flatulence for sure...) Guest guest
Louise, I have been cautioning people on those very grains and seeds for years as being carbohydrate-storage vessels that readily ferment. Guest guest
i definitely don't want to preach, but i can't help wanting to share how i feel about food and candida now. after struggling with candida for 16 -- yes, sixteen -- years, i am finally feeling much better. the only way this is possible, for me, is to follow the strictest possible candida diet. no grains. no fruit. no sweeteners of any kind. organic or antiobiotic-free meat, boiled (not roasted or fried), homemade yogurt made out of low-heat pasteurized organic cow or goat milk, organic eggs (not fried), avocados, homemade kombucha tea. and leafy green vegetables. organic if possible. homegrown in the summer. sea salt. these are the only foods that pass my lips. (for the last three months except for four days around christmas). i have cravings sometimes. BUT i have learned that life is INCOMPARABLY better WITHOUT those foods that cause candida. life is richer, more interesting, deeper, more mysterious, sometimes magical. i feel better physically and mentally than i have in my entire life. even as a child i did not feel this clear. the only really hard aspect of eating this way, now, is that everybody else doesn't. so it can be lonely. but i would not go back to the instantly gratifying feeling of eating starches, not for anything. in comparison, i felt like an automaton when i ate that way. now, i feel creative, spiritual, and more alive than i ever imagined. candida, i told a friend once, was my body telling me how to be healthy. i also take digestive enzymes and hcl. sometimes anti-fungals. had some raisins and walnuts over christmas, and needed grapefruit seed extract and capryl and oregano....but i think i don't need them anymore. we'll see. i also take some mineral tablets, made from the Great Salt Lake. i used to have problems with feeling faint. but the minerals take care of that. meditation helps also. OH -- also took colustrum for a long time. i think it helped with leaky gut. also i took candizyme for awhile. still do sometimes. it was so so hard to let go of that feeling of gratifying candida. which i think is why we still want to eat grains. to break free of that need is breaking free into a new, higher life. i am not kidding. i am not a religious person, either. this is just how i feel. it's been a long, long, hard slog. i'll let you know if this new health lasts. thank you to everyone for trying to get better. it's helped a lot. Guest guest
Hi, " Embrace gas " is a wrong advice. There were some posts earlier, indicating that incarcerated gas can compress vital organs, & cause havoc (I have no time to search & give reference) One can google & find out. Guest guest
I am working on it, I don't plan to " embrace " it. Thank You Re: Re: Fiber - Candidase > Hi, > " Embrace gas " is a wrong advice. > There were some posts earlier, > indicating that incarcerated gas can compress vital organs, > & cause havoc (I have no time to search & give reference) > One can google & find out. > MM > ==================================== > Duncan Crow wrote: >> Christie, it's best to embrace the gas as part of your successful >> therapy. Guest guest
If one farts the gas will not be incarcerated for long, and we discussed that previously too Seriously though, medmidas, lactobacilli produce gas from inulin, which was our subject at the time; these are beneficial (probiotic). Some neutrals also produce gas from inulin, but candida and yeasts on the other hand produce gas on sugar and do not produce the enzyme to use inulin. Guest guest
Yes Christie, most of the inulin either fosters probiotic growth or acts as a soluble fiber. The science on bowel ecology maintenance with it is in the inulin references: http://tinyurl.com/inulins The " bolus " meaning lump doses were shown to be better; probiotic increase was measured at as low as 5 gram doses. 12-15 grams approaches optimal daily according to some research, and more than 20 grams changes stool texture more than it increases probiotic growth much more than 15 grams does. I concur that fruit will be problematic.
