Guest guest
I haven't heard of connection between copper and candida overgrowth, but you can check for symptoms here: http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=nutrient & dbid=53 I know that with my 4yo, if I give him zinc supplements, it depletes copper, so he gets nosebleeds. Zinc and copper have an inverse relationship. I had to recently give him antifungal supplements because he was having behavioral problems. So I don't know if he naturally has less copper to begin with. He might have heavy metal toxicity (passed down from me) that could be contributing to not being able to control candida on his own, and we're waiting on hair mineral element analysis results. Guest guest
Hi: I have read reference to Copper being affected by Zinc. So if your Copper level is high than you can reduce it with Zinc supplements. One seems to affect the other. I have been suffering with bladder issues since Jan. and have seen multiple, multiple specialists - to no avail. I started doing my own research and am 8 wks into a yeast- detox, no-yeast diet protocol and am having amazing results. My symptoms are nearly gone and I feel great. My question is this - I am going to see a holistic diet coach in January and he said that yeast overgrowth is most often linked to a copper imbalance in the body. I'll have metal toxicity tests done to see if I have too much or not enough, but I was wondering if any of you had (i) heard of this connection or (ii) know whether or not too little copper or too much copper is usually the problem. My best to everyone. It's amazing how little is known about the dangers of yeast/fungal overgrowth!! You would think doctors would catch a clue but I've found very few that know how to deal with this. Thanks!
Guest guest
Heavy metal poisoning and yeast overgrowth go hand-in-hand. I had metal toxicity from aluminum, bismuth and arsenic. I use a clay gel in the shower every morning or sometimes in the bath and it cleared up. Takes a while, about 3 months for me. Also I'm taking some green supplements that draw them out. Incidentally, I also had bladder problems, constant infections and since I started candida treatment and losing the sugar and white carbs, it's also cleared up. Good luck and keep up updated with your progress. -Suzie > > Hi all - I'm new to the group. Guest guest
If heavy metal poisoning and candidiasis go hand in hand it makes a case for increasing glutathione, because glutathione is the actual escort molecule that gets heavy metals out of the body. Glutathione precursors are in short supply in individuals who cook most of their food and don't take supplements such as the cold-processed whey. Adequate glutathione is crucial as it is also the precursor molecule for energy production and the principle damage preventing antioxidant and detoxifier. Guest guest
Thanks - and thanks for the other responses. I am supplementing with zinc (80 mg/day), but I'm not sure that's enough... In any event, I'll be curious to see what my metal toxicity is. > > Hi: > > I have read reference to Copper being affected by Zinc.
