Any > comments would be appreciated Read www.dmpsbackfire.com for patient reports on the safety of DMPS. Since Dr. Mercola isn't differentiating between the various ways to admnister DMSA and DMPS I don't consider him a credible source on this issue. After all, DMSA every other day was a popular merccury detox protocol for some time and that messed people up beyond belief - if he prescribed that he would have every reason to consider DMPS injections quite safe compared to oral DMSA. The way the drugs are administered is just as important with DMPS and DMSA as with aspirin - lots of people kill themselves with aspirin every year, but that doesn't mean it is an inherently dangerous drug. Personally I consider oral DMPS and oral DMSA to be quite safe in reasonable dosages and on a reasonable administration schedule, and very hazardous otherwise. DMPS needs to be given every 8 hours or more often, and DMSA every 4 hours or more often. Reasonable doses are 1/8 to 1/2 mg per pound. If Dr. Mercola has reports of people who had trouble with this I would really like to hear about it since I have very few and do want to " keep score " accurately. Guest guest
I've read that DMPS is not tested on children so DMSA is a safer choice. Dr. Mercola also has a couple of other controversial parts of his protocol....chollera(sp??) use for one. [ ] DR MERCOLA Hi to everyone. Having just read Dr Mercola views on chelation i am now concerned about the use of dmsa . He states that dmps is safer and more effective than dmsa (contrary to what i have read) Has anyone used Dr Mercola protocol ? Any comments would be appreciated Many thanks Darren Moult
Guest guest
> I've read that DMPS is not tested on children so DMSA is a safer choice. This is FDA hogwash. It isn't tested IN THE US. The REST of the world has been using it since 1956, but it is a NEW AND UNTESTED DRUG here. There are many pediatric case reports with DMPS. It is fine - no worse than DMSA, and possibly better. Of course, DMSA was approved as an orphan drug, with quite minimal testing, so it is hard to claim that it's safety was demonstrated beyond a very rudimentary level. Guest guest
I would just like to add here that we have had some EXTREMELY negative experiences with Joe Mercola and that we had them a long time before the heavy metal issue came to the forefront in respect to autism. If anyone wants details, please email me privately. Amy Horne
Guest guest
Rica – probably the reason you have allergy symptoms is because the vitamin pills you are taking are made from synthetic and isolated ingredients. If you want “vitamin pills”, get yourself some whole food supplements (made from “whole” foods, not fractions of foods) – and start building your health from the ground up.
