Guest guest
I've been doing some very unscientific research on the internet about whey protein and gas...almost every site I've checked says that whey definitely does cause gas. However, I found one article that says whey concentrate often cuases gas, but not whey isolate. I just checked my Jarrow and Designer Whey canisters and can't tell if they are isolate or conentrate. I'm tempted to buy a small container of isolate and see what happens. Has anoyne used the NOW whey isolate that Duncan recommends or another isolate, and has it caused gas? I've also found sites that say inulin can cause gas.
Guest guest
I had major gas from inulin, so I took it very slow at first. I have taken lots of Now Whey Isolate with no major gas problems. Of course as the candida levels go down, so does the gas. I used to be so disturbed years ago by gas, and now feel it is a reaction of the good bacteria with the candida. After the first couple of weeks on inulin, the gas finally subsided. Now as I am taking stronger and stronger antifungals (as my body is finally ready for them) I occasionally get some gas which I associate with die-off, but it subsides after a few days on the substance causing the die-off, in other words, once the candida are dead the gas subsides. The cleanse I am on goes in levels deeper and deeper so I get cycles of gas and die-off which I have learned to welcome as part of the process. Of course you don't want this to be intolerable (and you have to be able to go out in public!) so I just lower the dose of whatever I take until the gas subsides to tolerable die-off levels. Years ago I shied away from anything that caused gas thinking this was bad. In my mind now, it feels like the good bacterira are taking over and the gas is the evidence of the battle within so to speak, and the good guys winning. Years ago when I was in excruciating pain (my intestines were totally inflamed and I had tremendous leaky gut) I could not tolerate the whey protein. I seemed to do better with goat protein powder (Goatein) but didn't realize all the benefits and dropped it along with numerous other things I tried. Because I didn't get immediate results I kept switching and dropping things. I think this is one of the biggest mistakes I made which really lengthened my journey. I finally realized I needed a coach so when things get tough, I know what to do. The toughest thing to me about dealing with Candida is how difficult it is to mark progress, so you tend to go in circles, chasing your tail. God bless the internet and the groups, as I learn so much from all of you. After a lifetime of candida, and 6 years of agony which finally culminated in a tumor in my colon a year and a half ago, I can say I am finally winning (without drugs or chemo or surgery). Now I take the whey seriously and religiously and it is keeping me moving forward along with the rest of my candida program. My advice is to not judge it necessarily all good or all bad, but perhaps you are not quite ready for certain types or the full dose. I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss it. I cannot tolerate any milk products (except butter), but now tolerate whey just fine, but I believe I couldn't do it until I healed my leaky gut to a certain extent. Years ago I wasn't ready, now I am thriving with it. As time passes I am ready for different things. I had so much confusion about this which Biamonte _http://www.health-truth.com/_ (http://www.health-truth.com/) really helped me understand. Everything has to be done at the right time, in the right order or you can really have problems and setbacks. Everything he said not to do, I had tried and failed with. Now that I am following his well designed protocol along with Duncan's whey/inulin protocol my gut is healing beautiful with tolerable die-off and my body is noticeably healthier, my skin has turned from bone dry to smooth and silky. Canker sores finally gone after y ears of mouthfuls of them. I am not " done " yet, but it is great to finally know I am moving in the desired direction. He does monthly urine tests to determine if you are ready for the next Phase, so you don't overwhelm the body with toxins. So I have measurable progress which really relieves me of mental stress. It is tough and takes tremendous focus, but am delighted with the progress after 4 months. Hope this helps some of you, so happy to be moving out of candida hell back into life!
