Guest guest
I'm sad to say I'm about to give up on it too. Guest guest
Hi: There is another way to get Glutathione every day. I think this Whey being derived from MILK is a problem for a lot of us. But you can buy Hemp Seed powder to use in making Shakes or whatever (maybe using Coconut Milk as a LIQUID BASE) and it has most of the same components. There is also this SALBA now that is the same sort of thing. Both have lots of Glutathione. Guest guest
medmidas, What exactly is your comment supposed to mean? Do you understand that virtually all people on this planet are deficient in glutathione? To increase glutathione you need to give the body a precursor to produce it. It won't come out of thin air! Everything is marketed, whether drugs, food, supplements. Doesn't matter. Nothing is free but air and water and even those should be filtered, requiring of course, a marketer! Guest guest
No, not at all. I was taking nystatin for 3 months, nizoral for three weeks, yeast-cleanse--none of them upset my stomach. I had none of the die-off reactions people talk about here either. But as soon as I take whey poweder or inulin, I get theupset stomach. The INternet searches I've done all mention upset stomach as a potentia side effect of both whey and inulin. ly I don't even believe my problem is (or was)yeast anymore! > > > I'm curious, do you get the same reactions if you take anti- fungals? Guest guest
Dearest JB, Thanks for sharing this information. Duncan, I wonder do you feel that there are some people who won't do as well on whey period? How do you distinguish between those who are taking whey and having detox/herx reactions from those who whey just isn't appropriate for? Also, I know you feel that whey is the best for glutathione, but if you do believe that some just don't tolerate whey at all, what would you recommend as an alternative in those cases (even if it is a second-best choice)? Guest guest
I think it is rather RIDICULOUS to blame everything on candida. Everyone cannot take whey OR inulin. Some may see results and others none. That is the nature of this whole environmental illness thing. We each have to find our own way. Bill **************Get fantasy football with free live scoring. Guest guest
I have been taking inulin for a long time now. I bought it from Duncan back when he had an excellent deal on loose powder long chain inulin. It will give you gas for a few days then it stops. Searching on the net, I could only find reference of " Inulin side effects have rarely been reported, perhaps very high amounts could cause some gastrointestinal symptoms. " It has been said that humans pass gas on average about 14 times a day. Inulin just gives it a more joyful noise lol. Inulin, in a different form, is added to a lot of prepared food now. On whey powder: I have also been using that for a long time. If I stop for a while, I notice a physical difference in a week or so. I am better with the whey than without it. One difference I did note though. On the NOW whey product, it mixes differently and I seem to need to take enzymes when I use that brand. I'm not certain why that is. But, just because of how it mixes, I think I will change back to a different brand next time. I used to be very lactose intolerant but over time, I seem to have overcome that.. I can use milk in cereal or soups without any ill effects. I think we blame too many things on candida and forget the rest of the world out there.  Go through life using the wide angle lenses, not the tiny telescopic lens that only shows one view.. I think you will be the better for it. Guest guest
Bonnie, oral glutathione from hemp avocados etc does not increase cellular glutathione; that's why we use concentrated precursors. Guest guest
Medmidas: " Breakthrough in Cell Defense " by Dr. Gustavo Bounous details his research on glutathione. Other research amounts to some 30,000 documents on Medline. Many of them are referenced in my glutathione references page. An attempt to marginalise all these research papers would make one potentially detrimental to his/her friends' health. Guest guest
Debby, Immunocal is only second best because it's about 8 times more costly than our common alternatives we discuss on-list In Canada it's called HMS-90, which I was told by a distributor is an acronym for Humanized Milk Serum 90% protein. Immunocal is well-tolerated and one can find out by using it if it's a detox or a whey reaction that's causing issues This is where wheys vary. Guest guest
Thanks, Diane. Maybe I should start buying long-chain inulin and sending it out in bulk again. By the way, your experience matches most, and the research too. I think the excessive gas some people report after using native inulin is probably from the natural sugar and FOS that has not been removed. Similarly, I've been saying since 2001 when I sold Immunocal that all the wheys vary by extraction process and some are better tolerated than others. I think it's a good test doing what you did and trying it for awhile, then withholding it to see if you feel worse again. After all, whey contains components that curb pathogen adhesion, which is what we're looking for. I do hope we can continue discussing our cures in a relatively troll- free zone! Guest guest
I have serious questions about " herx " responses and " die off " reactions too. Far too many cases of what sound to me like simple allergic or other adverse reactions are ascribed to " herxing " . And if you google herx reactions, there has never been any real proof that they occur except in the case of syphilis, which is what the Jarisch/Herxheimer reaction applies to. Then I think people just assumed herxes can happen with any bacterial die off. Now everything is a " herx " . I'm very skeptical. sol dreaminginnoother wrote: > No, I have only gotten these reactions to dairy products. This > blaming everything on the Herx is dangerous territory. Since I can't seem to find an amount of inulin (vitaminshoppe brand) small enough not to cause me gut problems, is the whey alone doing me any good other than as protein? I hope the NOW brand whey is still considered acceptable, I just received 5 lbs of it. sol JB wrote: > I bought the NOW inulin recommended on your site and had gas and > cramping even after two weeks. Guest guest
Hi Greg, Personally I do not believe everything is die-off or herx either for sure. I don't even know how you really would tell them apart. I was able to tell for myself only because my symptoms for herx/die-off and my symptoms for food intolerances are vastly different. So I can tell when a food just doesn't work for me, and when I'm getting die-off. As you know I don't recommend whey on my program simply because the results seem to be inconsistent. I prefer sticking with tried-n-true methods, and I'm also an evolutionary nutritionist, so dairy doesn't fit in that scheme any way. But I can't ignore that some swear by it, and I wonder why it works for some and not others. Is is just the dairy, or are some people getting die-off/herx and then assuming it is a food intolerance? Can people usually tell the difference between the two? Greg I'm not saying this is the case for you or anything like that, I'm just asking questions because I'm curious about this.
