Guest guest
FYI Courtesy of Mrs Grieve: Mandioca (otherwise known as Yuca, Cassava, Farinha de mandioca). ....a food plant of tremendous importance to tropical America. The plant of chief economic importance to the tribes of tropical South America east of the Andes. The juice is poisonous but the poison is neutralised by cooking, juice is collected by pressing to be used to produce an intoxicating liquor. Antiseptic, used as a meat preservative. Known as Brazilian tapioca, becomes tapioca after heating. Sweet cassava is nourishing, light and agreable as a food for invalids, and infants during weaning. So this is the answer, you eat the root? When I took the yukka supplement, I got spotty all over. Was that a sign of clearing poisons from the body? Guest guest
I think this is also known as cassava - I've seen it in the freezer compartment at Tescos? Possibly used in West Indian cooking?

Guest guest
Hi Bee, I was wondering if it's okay to eat yucca root. I found some information on it that says it has been clinically shown to be anti- fungal and anti-bacterial. It also helps to enhance growth of beneficial bacteria in the gut and enhances better absorption of nutrients. So is this okay to eat? Thanks! Guest guest
, if you're looking for Bee's group " " I urge you to see my feedback page first: http://tinyurl.com/comments-page The extracts of many plants have antibacterial effects but this rarely means the whole food has the property in-vivo in your gut. But if it is prebiotic as well it would help, because the prebiotic doesn't necessarily have to be concentrated. Duncan > > Hi Bee, > > I was wondering if it's okay to eat yucca root.
