Guest guest
A New Route to Health | Lots been said about that sadness, depression, and other negative feelings hurt our health. My studies, however, tell a story that's a bit different. It turned out, after thousands of people's health status over almost 30 years being carefully looked at, that negative feelings would not make people die sooner, not even from demons like heart diseases... Good news probably? A definite good news, a much better one, is that at the same time, the opposite, your positive feelings, undoubtly make you live longer and healthier (less chance of getting heart diseases, for example)... A common sense to you perhaps? But now we have a science (solid data, careful analyses) behind it to prove that. Meanwhile my studies, as well as some colleagues', happened to have also unexpectedly " dis-proved " what seemed to be another " common sense " - that negative feelings might shorten your life. Thus, my like-minded colleagues and I found out that, it is the positive that matters more! (Positive and negative feelings are not exactly the same thing at two opposite ends, they are more like two different sets of emotions that operate relatively independently to our health, if you are wondering...) So, if you are prone to negative feelings, that's probably okay with your health, as long as you know how to boost your positive feelings along the way... And this emergent science, Positive Psychology, is here to help with exactly that! And it is not just self-help talks. Well, it a bit of that and much more. It's the science of well-being and optimal functioning, a science with solid research and scientifically proven tools to help you. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/happiness_formula/4783836.stm How about making your commitment of becoming happier, with the help of positive psychology, as part of your healthy living plan? That's why I am here... Hi Everybody!
