I'm also going through the same thing. Depression also results waking at 3am in the morning - best known treatment is st john's wort taken at prescribed doses. Helen Waking up at 3 o'clock at night I get up every night between 3 and 4 with an urge to go to the bathroom and then I can't fall asleep for hours. Any input will be highly appreciated! !!! Guest guest
Sunny: Maybe your Circaidian Rythm is out of wack. I was taking some Hydrocortisone cream for a rash and it caused me to wake up in the night and stay awake too. Guest guest
I too wake up between 3 and 4 am. My doc told me it is realted to menopause. I had a hystorectomy last year and it seems to be less since the surgery. Friends of mine all have the same thing and we are all in the same age range between last 40's and early 50's. My one friend who is 56 still has it and has gone through her changes about 5 years ago. Chalk it up to being a women! sue --- Bonnie Cole <bonnieview@...> wrote: > Sunny: > > Maybe your Circaidian Rythm is out of wack. Guest guest
Sue, your comment that depression might be a cause of insomnia rather than an EFFECT of hormonal and nutritional imbalance like the insomnia is concerned me so I thought I'd bump up this thread. Melatonin levels fall with age, ladies; melatonin IS the sleep hormone, and you need the deep sleep for restoration. Try 3-6 mg right when you go to bed; I'd suggest sublingual for its fast effect. Nutritional imbalance (from your bowel disorders) causes anxiety, high blood pressure, aggressive behaviour, insonmia, depression, etc. A search on Dr. Abram Hoffer's work with insomnia, depression and schizophrenia turns up that he uses the mineral magnesium and vitamin B's, with emphasis on B3, and has been for 45 years. Guest guest
But I had clinical depression which was officially diagnosed by a specialist and I was waking up at 3am in the morning every morning - what he didn't diagnose was mercury amamlgam leakage - the depression disappeared when my amalgams were removed. What I did learn was that it's not worth tryig to get back to sleep. Better to stay up for an hour or so and then go back to sleep - it's a lot easier then. St 's wort is a good natural and very effective anti-depressant. I know what your going through. Please feel free to contact me privately if you want to talk (I mean email). I think I now know just about everything there is to know about depressive illness after a 10 year struggle learning as much as I could. Guest guest
First and foremost THANK YOU so much for sharing the root cause of your depression which I think is true for me too. I have four amalgams and had four before. I developed infection under the old ones so got them replaced with white composite resin. I can't begin to tell you how 3 o'clock waking up schedule has messed up my routine. It is really taking a toll on my career and everything around me. Did you go to aspecial dentist to get your amalgams out or not? Did you take any special supplements for removal? > > > > > > > > possibly a urinary tract infection. Guest guest
Helen, Thank you so much for your input!!!! I just can't begin to tell you how tired I am every day. I think amalgam replacement is quite overdue now. I have 4 amlagams and used to have 4 more. I got 4 replaced to composite resin as I developed infection. I have couple of questions for you.. 1. Did you go to any special dentist for removal? 2.Did you take any supplements before or after the removal? Look forward to hear from you....
