Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I know that all of you have seen the postings between Kit and myself. Some of you may find them interesting and some not. However, I have gone through many changes in my search for truth and, as such, my viewpoints have changed in many ways. I am sure that Kit too has gone through many changes in her life that has led her to her beliefs and views. Neither of us is wrong as there is no wrong. There is only right, right for each of us at this point in time. We all choose our own right and we learn from our choices. As a trained herbalist and previously for most of my life I have had the belief that plants were very beneficial for us. Well they are. Just not necessarily as we have come to believe. All plants are herbs but not all herbs can be used as food. Originally herbs were used by shamans in their rituals and were not used as remedies by anyone. However, over time this changed, and herbs were actively promoted as being a cure all for whatever. Man has become deluded in the belief that cures can come from plants, animals and minerals. Nothing is further from the truth yet today we see all sorts of remedies utilizing animals, plants and inorganic minerals that are supposed to cure us of our maladies that are caused by our departure from natural laws. Nature is being exploited tremendously for the magical cure for whatever ails you. There is no magical cure in nature except obeying natural laws. This is not religion this is the law of nature and anyone who goes contrary to natural law ends up with a compromised organism. Therefore, with herbs and other remedies, if it cannot be used as food it is toxic to the body and therefore poisonous. Yes, the NH and raw foodist theory on this is if you can't sit down and eat this herb in quantities in salads or by itself on a regular basis then it is not meant to be introduced within the human body. All plants contain nutrients this is true. However, all plants also contain toxic glycosides and alkaloids that poison our organism. Some contain much more than others. Some contain so little that you can eat them in your salads on a regular basis and not be poisoned by them as your body can effectively and efficiently deal with and eliminate the toxic constituents. So as I view it everything we eat contains three things: Nutrients (vitamins and minerals, water, and oxygen) Fiber (mostly inert) Toxins (glycosides, alkaloids and other toxic combinations of 'ides' and 'oids') What we wish to choose to put into our bodies should consist mainly of nutrients with very little toxins. This is optimal for the best of health. We should also have some fiber as well. As an example---parsley is dark green, has lots of nutrients and a some toxins. We know it is toxic because of its somewhat sharp taste and because this taste stops us from eating a whole plate of parsley. We can use an herb if we can use its nutrients and if there is so little toxicity that the body can deal with the toxins quickly and still have tiime/energy to diges tthe nutrients. Eating a large salad without the amount of toxins as found in a plate of parsley would allow us to expend less energy and get more nutrients). We want to avoid toxins as much as possible. Why? Because they are an energy drain for the body as it has to expend lots of energy in trying to remove them. Toxins are a chemical threat and need to be removed as soon as possible from the body to avoid damage to the body. If there is not enough energy to remove the toxins, our body will be damaged in some way and this damage is cumulative. But we always have a choice. Example: We can choose to eat an herb with our food, and lose a little energy - while perhaps saving energy on being more happy because we like the taste. Unhappiness is an energy drain as well. Now why do people use herbs for " medical " purposes? Because people are after the toxicity. The toxic effect has several side-effects - we feel stimulated because of the sudden rush to throw the toxin out. And we lose so much energy that certain disease symptoms will stop (because the detox will stop temporarily). So it will APPEAR that the disease has stopped. However from a hygienists point of view we want to keep the cleansing going, and we want to have high energy, because we want the CAUSE of our diseases to disappear. We don't want a cosmetic solution, which is what taking herbs, using essential oils, homeopathic remedies and allopathic medications are. They are only cosmetic, treating or suppressing the symptoms without addressing the cause which is a toxic organism. You can't remove toxins by adding in more toxins. It doesn't work that way. There are only two ways to cleanse the body: Fasting, and/or eating a 100% raw living foods diet of organic fruits and green leafy vegetables. There is no other way to cleanse the body as the body is perfectly capable of cleansing itself and any other way will only hinder or stop natures process and quite likely create more damage. Now using herbs on the outside of the body is a very different story alltogether. Herbs are very beneficial, though not needed, for use on the outside of the body. I say not needed as the body is more than capable of healing itself without any influence on our part other than getting out of the way and allowing the body the physiological rest it needs to effect the healing. These are my thoughts and I do not expect anyone to believe in them. It is all choice for us all. If any one wishes to believe in herbs that is their choice. If anyone wishes to believe in invasive procedures like acupuncture or innoculations that too is their choice. We all have choice and the choices we make will determine whether we experience optimum health or less than optimum health. Most all of us are on these lists because we have health issues. We have health issues because we have made choices that conflicted with natural law. Return back to observing and following natures laws and you will experience optimum health. No dis-ease is incurable, nobody need suffer for years and years in pain. Nobody need to resign themselves that they will have said dis-ease forever either. Unless that is what you wish and choose. I strongly urge each and every one of you to educate yourselves. Do not take my word for gospel. Do your own research, be your own doctor and heal yourselves. Nobody else can heal you. Nobody. There is no modality that can heal you, none. Only you can heal yourself. That is truth and fact. If you do not wish to continue being ill, dis-eased or experiencing less than optimal health than quit buying into the medical model of thinking and do something about it. Educate yourselves and begin by observing the laws of nature. We all have free choice to choose health or........ Just my buck two ninty five worth of thoughts and views. -- Peace be with you, all. Guest guest
Don, That's alot of great input. As with my last post....we ARE humans and the inherent definition of a human is the ability to use tools. Medicine is merely a tool, preferably we'll all choose good medicine over bad medicine. Anytime, someone does or takes someting in order to heal it is medicine. Fasting is medicine, cleansing is medicine, detoxing is medicine and taking a particular food to acheive a certain goal is food as medicine. May we all acheive optimum health by whatever tools we choose.
