Can anyone tell me, if a pregnant mom drinks while pregnant of cause can the

kid be born with an over growth of candida, and can this come back when they

are older? Because I know my mom consumed alcohol when she was pregnant with

me and she used to tell me how I used to have skin rashes between my thighs

and gentile area (we used to laugh about it). So can this come back when

your older and have compromised your immune system by eating meat seldom

because you don’t eat chicken?

i wanted to mention that nystatin can be a 'gentle' antifungal. i was going to

go the natural route w/ GSE then met a number of folks who had some really bad

gerd from it. My DS takes the antifungal and we are adding enzymes and

probiotics. we had to do myralax to get his gut to clear for all of this to

actually work but then bacing off. we do some fruits and fruit juice but almost

no 'pure' sugar for him. DS is 8 yo. we are working w a doc on this. she

actually upped the units / day and concentrated it (via a compounding pharm) so

that i just have to give him an eyedropper full..but i do it 4 X a day. It is

funny- on another group the primary person says that nystatin is too 'gentle'

and you really need to go to something more severe..but it really depends on the

yeast involved. etc.

Hi,

Nystatin seems to have only local action, only 1~3% is absorbed.

Best if taken with food.

If candida is not systemic, Nystatin is best choice.

Pls see below a copy & paste done from knowthecause.com

But if it causes local irritation, wiser to stop.

In case of opposition/disbelief, try googling - Nystatin gut antifungal

Or goto knowthecause.com & check FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS? (about us)

All answers @ websites only.

------------------------------------------------------------

Are prescription antifungals safe?

The newer systemic, or bloodstream, antifungals are much safer than the

older ones like Nizoral of Griseofulvin. Some of the newer ones include

Diflucan, Lamisil, and Sporanox. The safety depends on both the length

of time these are used and with which other medications they are taken.

All of these antifungals are filtered through the liver, and anyone with

known or suspected liver disease should be either very careful with

these drugs or avoid them altogether. Also, if they are taken in large

doses for a long period of time in anyone, the liver enzymes should be

monitored (for example, every 3 months). The combination of these

antifungals and certain antibiotics and antihistamines should be

avoided; check with your physician or nurse if this might apply to you.

NYSTATIN is a gut antifungal. Only 1-3% of it is absorbed at all; the

other 97-99% remains in the intestines all the way down and is excreted

via the bowels. This medication has no known adverse reactions if taken

with food. Sometimes, people refer to Nystatin as an antibiotic, when it

is really a broad-spectrum antifungal. In part, it is an anti-biotic,

since bio means living organism, and fungi certainly are living

organisms!
