Guest guest
Heartburn/Acid reflux occurs for several reasons: 1) inadequate chewing 2) chronic unintentional dehydration 3) over-eating (without proper chewing) 4) over-eating (with proper chewing!) 5) improper food combining 6) eating acid-forming foods without the buffering effect of other foods...like drinking coffee on an empty stomach or alcohol or candy bars on an empty stomach...or tomato sauce or pizza and beer, or pizza and soda without eating anything else...and many other combinations too. 7) eating late at night, and then going to bed: normally the stomach should be empty of food before going to bed/sleep in a horizontal position... 8) and any combination of the above! (and no doubt a few others I am not thinking of right this second) There are several great things about “Contain” http://tinyurl.com/h2al, which will help to keep stomach contents down where they belong – in the stomach: 1. Ingredients are all food grade ingredients. 2. Contain has digestive enzymes added to help liquify the food you just ate...(of course it would help if you chew and use supplemental digestive enzymes regularly!) 3. The famous " alginate " portion of Contain is derived from sea algae, also known as sea vegetables, also known as sea weeds. These " alginates " contain a gelatinous substance which forms a miniature " personal flotation device " or " raft " that floats upon the surface of our digesting (gurgle gurgle) stomach contents, and serving as an effective barrier or buffer; this gelatinous protective barrier raft is completely food grade and will prevent stomach contents from adversely affecting the esophageal valve. Since " Contain " is made up entirely of food grade materials, as the normal course of stomach digestion proceeds, these gelatinous protective materials will gradually but eventually be absorbed into the normal digesting contents of the stomach. These materials will not cause any harm to the duodenum as they leave the stomach. On the contrary, they are ideal materials and will assist in the normal and healthy digestive system process. Unlike so many pharmaceutical grade antacids in the marketplace today which, essentially, shut off the production of stomach acid, which may have both short term and long term adverse consequences...(pneumonia for instance) “Contain” is food based, and helps to restore normal and natural functioning of the stomach and entire gastrointestinal tract.
