Guest guest
My brother in law is turning into a pill factory. He is headed to opening up his own house drug factory at the rate he is going. He's up to 4 pills at the moment. His choice. He said one pill is that he "blows" up like a balloon (water retention). Of course his diet is SAD. Sugestions for water retention. Of course meat, probably lots of salt too, etc. Today he is finding out if kidney if failing, but I'm sure it's going to be a different drug added to his "home pharmacy." He is 68 and says "what can I do Carol" as if to say there is nothing he can do if he is going to live, but listen to HIS doctor. His wife is a nurse...also on drugs. Guest guest
Did you injure your ankle? When you severely injure an ankle, that once-quiet joint becomes a hotbed of activity, . "Nerves, muscles and other tissues become aggravated. Vessels and capillaries tear, leaking blood. More blood rushes to the area to begin the healing process. Fluids accumulate faster than they can be removed, and you have swelling." The most common ankle injuries involve an inversion—or inward wrenching of the joint—resulting in a sprain (a tearing of the ligament), strain (a tearing of a muscle or tendon) or even bone fracture. All three can swell, hurt and leave an ugly bruise. Only a physician can properly diagnose which one you have. In addition to injury, there are a number of other possible causes for a swollen ankle. And all of them are fairly common. Chronic overuse—doing too much, too soon, too fast—can lead to excess fluid accumulation and swelling. It can cause tendinitis, for example, an inflammation of the tendons. In tendinitis, stretching and repetitive action tear or irritate a tendon, causing it to swell. Underuse can also be a problem. If you're prone to water retention, just lazing around on a hot day can produce grapefruit-size ankles. So can certain medications. Even something as commonplace as shoes can turn traitor and transform ankles into mini-replicas of the Hindenburg. "A shoe that's too loose or too tight, worn out, flimsy or inadequate for the way it's being used can swell an ankle well above it's normal size," Circulatory and vascular diseases can also produce swelling. Venous insufficiency—a weakness in the valves of the veins—can cause blood to back up in the ankles, leading to an uncomfortable swelling. Swelling can also result from heart failure, which has many causes, such as high blood pressure, heart attack or anything that weakens the heart muscle. Other common causes of chronic ankle swelling are lymphatic and kidney disease, diabetes, gout and rheumatoid arthritis. Suzi List Owner health/ http://360./suziesgoats What is a weed? Guest guest
What's your exercise level? Rebounding comes to mind. It's used for cancer patients with lympodema, don't know why it wouldn't work for someone healthy with swollen ankles. It flushes the lymph system. Just a thought that popped to the front of my mind reading your post. Shari

Guest guest
Suzanne, just a word of caution the growers are allowed to call them "raw" and still pasturize them. There is NO way of telling if the almonds are raw or not without calling the farmer. I'm pretty sure these are not raw almonds. Trader Joe's aren't raw either even though it says "raw" on the label. I think they have to say "truly raw" to be really raw. Makes no sense because only two people got sick and it was only salmonella. To boot the almonds were organic and it was over a 7 year period. Just an example of the taking of our rights. Shari

Click on that, sign in if necessary to then click on Files on the left hand side. There are many, many days' reading in there. I think it is under Natural Health Remedies. Look for Taro Plaster. I used it once when my ankles were badly swollen. I put it on for 2 hours, changed to a fresh one for another 2 hours. The next day, I repeated the treatment. I could feel it pulling out toxins all the way to my knees. The second day I out it on, it was itching so badly I was lying on the floor, beating the floor with my fists! But the second application that day was almost nothing. It had pulled an amazing amount of toxins from my kidneys, unclogging them. My ankles went back to normal for the next 30 years! Guest guest
Hello Rena, it could be you just need a good boost of protein. Sometimes vegans do not get enough and the edema can start building from this. Try to pack some protein on in the next few weeks and see what happens with the swelling. There are high-protein veggies and grains out there. Also, you might be lacking in iodine and/or B12 as well. I rarely suggest this, but in your case I would look for a good natural supplement at your local health food store, or make the nutrition recipe listed in our files. Try it, see if it helps over a month or so of consistent dosages. Guest guest
Try quinoa, soy, any kind of beans, asparagus, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, nuts, and seeds. Ditch the iodine supplement and get a complete nutrition supplement with iodine in it. Ovarian cysts are fickle creatures; some go away on their own and some linger for a long time. Do you know what kind of cyst it is? Guest guest
Well, these are the items I have been eating. The sonogram showed a large ovarian cyst, but it didn't specify any particular kind. While trying to get rid of this, it kept growing. Re: Water retention Rena, What is your diet like? Guest guest
If this cyst is not hurting you or causing you severe discomfort, I’d leave it alone because it will probably burst and dissipate if it keeps growing. If it is causing discomfort (it is possible it is causing your water retention), then surgical removal or aspiration would be my next consideration. You can always deal with the after effects of surgery naturally, and with your diet you would probably recover very quickly. I think Dr. probably would have tried caster oil packs over the area to see if it could be encouraged to burst without surgical intervention. You could try that 3x per week for a few weeks and see if there is an improvement. I had cysts all my life, they are actually very common, and there are many different types. Try the natural things first. If they end up going in to remove it, they will not be able to save the ovary.
