Guest guest
Propylene GlycolCalled a humectant in cosmetics, it is really "industrial anti-freeze" and the major ingredient in brake and hydraulic fluid. Tests show it can be a strong skin irritant. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) on Propylene Glycol warn to avoid skin contact as it is systemic and can cause liver abnormalities and kidney damage. Mineral OilComes from crude oil (petroleum) used in industry as metal cutting fluid. May suffocate the skin by forming an oil film. Healthy skin needs to take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide. This process should not be inhibited. Holding large amounts of moisture in the skin can "flood" the biology, and may result in immature, unhealthy, sensitive skin that dries out easily. PetroleumSame properties as Mineral Oil. Industrially it is used as a grease component. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)/ Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)Potentially, SLS is perhaps the most harmful ingredient in personal-care products. SLS is used in testing-labs as the standard skin irritant to compare the healing properties of other ingredients. Industrial uses of SLS include: engine degreasers, garage floor cleaners, and car wash soaps. Studies show its danger potential to be great, when used in personal-care products.Research has shown that SLS and SLES may cause potentially carcinogenic nitrates and dioxins to form in the bottles of shampoos and cleansers by reacting with commonly used ingredients found in many products. Large amounts of nitrates may enter the blood system from just one shampooing. Alpha Hydroxy AcidsAlpha hydroxyacids are the latest cosmetic fad. They work by exfoliating (shedding) the skin to reveal a soft, smoother under layer; that is more wrinkle free. Question: Isn’t it logical that cancer rates may go way up - because the protective layer of the skin is being removed?! Bentonite or KaolinClays in foundations that may clog and suffocate the skin. GlycerinDraws moisture from inside the skin, and holds it on the surface for a better "feel". Dries skin from the inside out. Collagen & Elastin of High Molecular WeightDerived from animal skins and ground-up chicken feet. Both of these ingredients form films that may suffocate and over-moisturize the skin. Bar SoapsMade from animal fat and lye. May let bacteria feed and grow in it. May corrode the skin and dry it out What the industry doesn't say The Industry doesn't’t tell you that Toothpaste, which may contain sodium lauryl sulfate, has the potential of causing mouth ulcers & Cancer. And that children die every month from eating too much of it! (Hazardous Substance Database /POISINDEX). They don’t tell you that Mouthwash, which may have a higher alcohol content than the beer or wine you drink, has the potential to cause Cancer or that Mouthwashes will soon require "child-proof" capping because children die from drinking it. (U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission / 1994). They don’t tell you that most Shampoos are loaded with nitrates and dioxins; some of the most serious potential cancer-causing agents around; and nitrates and dioxins don’t stay on the skin surface, they go right into your organs. They also don’t tell you that most shampoos have the potential of keeping children’s eyes from developing properly and may cause long-term damage. Do you want exposure to that? ( Green, Ph.D, D. Sc., Research to Prevent Blindness Inc.). They don’t tell you that most Moisturizers are full of Propylene Glycol (PG), which is Industrial Antifreeze/Brake Fluid and should be in your car - NOT ON YOUR FACE! PG doesn’t stay on the skin, it goes into the blood system and it builds up in the organs. (Lab Invest 1990 Jan). And you certainly won’t hear that most Bubble baths have the potential to be Cancer baths. But you know what, science HAS proven that many products can be.. they ARE loaded with those types of ingredients! The studies are there for you to read! Suzi What is a weed?
