Guest guest
This is one of my personal issues with the medical establishment. First of all, the term hysterectomy comes from the word hysteria, and was performed on women for all sorts of reasons, (usually " mental " illness) rarely for the reasons of gangrene. What infuriates me the most about the practice is they continue to be the 'cure' for all sorts of reasons that there may be other ways of dealing with. They tried to take my uterus out after a diagnosis of endometriosis 6 years ago, and I refused, sought alternative methods and have been endo free for 4 years now. sorry for the tangent, but as long as we accept hysterectomies as the only option, the medical profession won't bother to look for anything else. -- ~ Hel ~ If you can't be a good example -- then you'll just have to be a horrible warning. Guest guest
Hel, you're right, many don't bother looking for the source of the problem.. just relieve what is currently going on.. not what started it.Helgardh@... wrote: This is one of my personal issues with the medical establishment.First of all, the term hysterectomy comes from the word hysteria, andwas performed on women for all sorts of reasons, (usually "mental"illness) rarely for the reasons of gangrene. Guest guest
I believe that hysterectomies are up there at the top of the list of needless surgeries, right up there with c-sections and radical mastectomies. Yup....their are herbs for all various prolapses. Kit > Got told about a device MD's use to use before hystorectomies to > help women with prolapse of the uterus. Been seeing that term in the > herb books but ignorant of what the problem was. As was explained to > me after having 30 kids the uterus would sometimes want to slip out. > To stop this, some idiot invented a tubelike device called a prissin > or prussin, something like that, that would fit up the vagina and stay > in there as a mechanical support for the uterus.
