Guest guest
Hi all, Way back in October I posted a request for help with tinnitus related to candida. I got many responses, with some great tips to work through it. I went to my General Practitioner in October. She poked her little scope in my ear, and asked me a lot of questions. Then she left the room. About fifteen minutes later she pulled me in to her office excitedly. She told me she had been browsing online (kid you not) and found one of two things. Either one really horrible thing that would kill me, or another that would be a slow road to hearing degeneration. I was horrified. She sent me to a specialist who hooked me up to a bunch of probes to check my heart. ??? Then, even though it was only my right ear that hurt, they wanted to take a punch biopsy of my left ear. Their reasoning was that the cartiledge (sp?) in the left ear was hard, and that is a step in the degeneration. I walked out and never went back. After three months and two painful trips involving planes I changed my primary care physician to a recommended doctor in another town. I went in and he asked me a bunch of questions. He asked about what I was taking, including vitamins. He put the probe in both ears, nose, and throat, felt all my lymph nodes (even my ankles), listened to my heart lungs, and neck while prodding and bumping (gently) around my ears, throat, ankles. He then did a pressure test and a hearing test on both ears. He also did a blood test, and a saliva test. He said I had inflamed eustachian (again sp? tube between ear and nose) tubes most likely due to a yeast infection. Sounding familiar yet? He prescribed an inhaled anti-inflammatory, a mucous inhibitor, an anti- histamine, and a short term antibiotic-just in case. I started that night and by the next day the ringing had subsided. Three days in I felt like new. Day five a mack truck hit me. I smelled, and tasted infection. Was coughing up, and blowing out the worst yellow mucous ever and my ears were ringing like a freight train! You could have popped my head with a pin there was so much pressure. I had also developed a huge rash and a lot of swelling behind my right ear. So, I took the antibiotics (something I usually never do) for the next three days, and spent a great deal of time in bed with vco tea, pau d'arco tea, and chicken soup. Ten days later I am finally pulling out of it. My ears are not ringing any longer although I still have a little congestion. I am greatful that this doctor seemed to know his stuff. Oh and btw, he adjusted my vitamins a bit so I am taking more Vitamin C (was 2000 a day now 6000, and 4000 when I feel better), and D(800 mg a day), and less Calcium. Thank you to all who contributed and I hope this may help others who are suffering the same. 1 year, 2 1/2 months
