Guest guest
I just got through 4 days of trying the whey/selenium/inulin protocol and it messed me up!! The room was spinning all last night and most of today, leaving me in a cold sweat. I guess I'm allergic to whey. So, I was thinking I might try the alternative, but I can't find Cystine for sale anywhere. I can find Cysteine, but not Cystine. Anyone know where I can pick up some Cystine? Guest guest
Is there a reason why you think you need only one amino acid? Why not all of them? Guest guest
Carol, cystine yields cellular cysteine, the rate-limiting factor in the creation of the body's master antioxidant glutathione. Whole foods don't contain enough so we supplement or use undenatured whey (and selenium). You also need other amino acids, but cellular longevity, detoxification, and oxidative damage, are linked to the cysteine component. Guest guest
The glutathione created is the molecule that latches on to to free mercury and physically escorts it out of the body. This is the body's natural protection against casual metals exposure. TREATING mercury toxicity may require other steps indeed. Don't discourage anyone from supplementing with glutathione promoters unless they are actively treating mercury toxicity; low glutathione will prolong and even cause illness and immune suppression.
