Guest guest
Bonnie, I didn't ask them about tips on doing it with a diabetic diet. I was too nervous. Plus I heard someone at the meeting say something about counting carbs and the leader said we don't do that here and wouldn't even talk about it. So I don't think I would have the guts to ask. I have been trying to do the WW plan for me but I am finding that I have to eat more then I usually do with just the diabetic diet that I have been following. I think it is adding too many carbs to my diet. I don't know what to do. I kind of want to forget about doing the WW thing and just go back to what has already helped me lose 47 pounds and that is doing my carbs how the diabetic clinic told me to do them and exercising. That really worked for me (when I was actually doing it right). If only I could just get back into the grove that I was in for so long there of watching my carbs and exercising. The weather is starting to get warmer so I think I can soon go back to walking around the track. I just don't know what to do about the WW thing. 340/293.5/275 (this is according to my scales at home and not the ww scales at the meeting. I just wanted to congratulate you on going to the WW meeting! Are youfinding the plan easy to follow? Did they have any tips for stickingto a diabetic diet while on WW?There's so much support online for people on WW--you can go torecipezaar.com (I think) and do a search for Weight Watchers andyou'll get tons of recipes. I use a lot of WW recipes because it'sbasically the same thing I'm already doing...just reasonable portionsand accounting for what I eat.I hope it's working well for you! Guest guest
-- Have you been to see a dietitian/nutritionist? If you are diabetic, it would be wise for your physician to refer you to see one. I did WW awhile back. I seem to remember that they had a special diabetic meal plan available. You should ask them about it. You are paying them for their service -- if they are not meeting your needs, then you need to look elsewhere. Guest guest
So how are you doing? Have you been following the diabetic eatingplan? Is it going well for you?-BonnieHi Bonnie, I have had a really rough couple of days. You might have noticed I have been missing in action for a couple days. I just wasn't up to getting on the computer at all. I have been having hallucinations again. I have been taking my meds, but I think the stress of getting a job and there is a loan that is causing problems that has affected me more then I realized. Yesterday it was horrible. I won't describe some of the stuff I was seeing and hearing, but lets just say it was terrible. I am doing better today. Don't think I have seen anything or heard anything that others haven't today, but then again I don't always know when I am hallucinating. Some times people have to tell me that what I am seeing or hearing isn't real before I know that I am hallucinating. So be it to say I haven't been even thinking about following my diet these last few days. I don't know what is going to happen, but when I get things back under control in my head then hopefully I can get back with the program of eating right. I am going to try and eat right today. Haven't had much to eat today any way. Right now I am drinking some Diet Dr. Pepper. I started to eat a piece of bologna, but I just can't eat anything right now. Don't know why. from MO. I haven't actually talked to another parent with that Dx. I was recently told that sara's may never come out again for 2 reasons 1 she has a full head of hair again and two the celiac dx will help put the auto immune system to sleep. Guest guest
Some kids do have paradoxical effects and some don't. I don't know if there is a way to predict who will have such a reaction. If the situation is bad however, perhaps trying it even once would be helpful. Try that argument with the doctor. Our experience with panic attacks (and unfortunately, we have a lot of experience with that) was that an SSRI was not enough alone. We had increased the SSRI and then he had a terrible reaction to it. In fact, this year we began using Prozac (small dose) and clonidine. Things gradually improved over 8 weeks and I have a whole new prescription of Ativan that I have not used since last spring. My son is doing very well right now. The psychiatrist we have says that she has used clonidine for several of her child patients with success. Between that combination ofd meds and therapy, she has been able to get the kids off SSRI's and on Clonidine alone. Best wishes Bonnie > > My son uses Ativan for panic attacks with success. Guest guest
Hi Bonnie, We tried clonidine alone for the whole summer. She did well, but than the anxiety started up again. So, now she is on both the clonidine and the zoloft again. Like I said before, I have severe panic disorder myself and have tried all the SSRI. The only thing that has ever worked for me is the klonopin. I have made another new appointment for my kids.(Im exhausted from the hours of waiting at the present p-doc office) Hopefully this one will have a clue. Ive found with my dd that diet plays a huge role in her impulsive behavior. If theres something your child craves--it could be the key to your problems. My dd cannot have milk--impulsive and hyper! She also cant have the food coloring blue. She is impossibly mean when she has this! Take these two things away and it was an extreme help. There are quite a few key items that can help but you have to experiment with what they eat to figure it out. You can email me if you want. This has worked for quite a few people that are willing to take the time to try. Thanks, Bonni
Guest guest
I had most of my amalgams removed two and a half years ago and it has made a difference. I still have one left, but the difference between having six and having one is huge for me. No more brain fog at all. I took a lot of Spirulina and a homeopathic that worked well against heavy metal toxicity over the following few months. (I couldn't get to one of those mercury-savvy dentists at the time.) Can't wait to get the last one done, it'll be pretty soon. Guest guest
Alison, thankyou so much fot the e-mail. It is good to know that I MIGHT survive going to a regular dentist. I am TOLD that juicing cilantro and drinking a half to a cup of the juice per day will take out more metal toxins than any other natural substance. I always add about 25% parsely to it and for some " weird " reason, it makes the taste tolerable, where as by themselves, it is awful! I think too it would be smart to take along to the dentist a bunch of chlorella and chew it up and swish it around in your mouth and spit it out right after the extracting. I would " imagine " this would absorb any left over mercury toxins in the mouth? Duncan, any comments as to what the best natural detox for heavy metals might be? Guest guest
Bonnie, How long ago did you do the removal? Do you have any implants or crowns? Did you do anything to detoxify the metals after the amalgam removal? I had mine removed in four quadrants over the course of a year, only one time did I notice anything different but it was enough to have made it worth while. My detoxification pathways were impaired and the mercury couldn't come out. It took me 6 years of various detoxification/supplementation/treatments to finally feel good. Guest guest
Sharon: I had mine removed in either 1999 or 2000 and no crowns or implants, just fillings. I didn't do anything then and neither did the Dentist. In fact, the fillings were put in the garbage to go to the landfill. Guest guest
Wow, Bonnie, this is such a bad time for you. And to add to all the turmoil, you are getting bombarded with all these suggestions. I guess that how you react to the suggestions depends on the urgency getting treatment. Some cancers are slower than others and thus, give you a bit of time to experiment. I wish you all the best. The diet approaches are good ideas anyway. Do some research, and then do what you feel is best for you. Take good care Bonnie Re: Re: Radiation Duncan I wouldn't suggest radiation therapy either. I'd start with radically changing diet (if you haven't already) to all organic foods however possible, with eating only meats, veggies (anti-cancer) and fats. I'd look into intravenous vitamin C treatment as well as MMS potentially or internal baking soda wash. Luv, Debby in San , CA 147 pounds lost! 100% of health issues reversed!
