Guest guest
I'll have to go looking as I've not noticed the HFS carrying it.. I used to order french or green clay. The one I have is called Aztec healing clay or something like that. It will suck out anything. LOL! I once had a mean abscess, made the Aztec into a paste with water and put it on with a bandage overnight. The next day the whole thing had broken open and drained. It gets hard as a rock and really draws. It's just hard to get a bandage on a cat's face and actually get it to stay there overnight. Guest guest
Make a paste and apply it to kitty and keep him in your lap till it drys... I was thinking about doing that. It becomes hard and pulls the skin like a plaster pack, but it's worth a try. Also giving bentonite clay liquid internally is another idea. Things like Vit-Ra-Tox #16 which absorbs toxins in every nook and cranny of the body and doesn't even taste that bad...just kind of chalky. I don't like taking powdered clay internally because it can clump in places you don't want it to clump, but Vit-Ra-Tox #16 is made in such a way that it can't do that. Guest guest
Goll, it's been a while I forget. I have had my jar of Aztec Healing Clay for at least 15 years but when I need it the darn stuff still works just fine. I don't use it often. Obviously ;-). Guest guest
put a drop or two on the lump. I think I'll do that. A poultice of it might be too much to take, but I'll just put a little on it. Will it just evaporate or will it actually absorb into the abscess? Everything you put on the skin doesn't get absorbed does it? I think it has to do with the size of the molecules and all that scientific stuff.;-). Guest guest
Hi Gloria, Sorry to hear about Oreo's abcess. I would have probably put super tonic on it. I am becoming a little 'ocd' with that stuff though it did draw a huge splinter that was deeply into the crease of my forefinger. I am a believer! lol Seriously though, I wish you the best and my thoughts and prayers are with you both. Good luck. Hugs, Toni

Guest guest
But Gloria, ST is an antibiotic... keep this in mind depending on the condition going on in the mouth. SuziMorningGlory113@... wrote: I would have probably put super tonic on it. I am becoming a little 'ocd' with that stuff Thanks Toni. His little mouth is such a mess with the tumor and ulcers and gum infections and blood and pus etc. I don't want to put anything burning or painful in it (like garlic or cayenne) unless I'm 10000000% it will work. I just don't want to play around with "maybe's" and possibilities that might make him even more uncomfortable. If all else fails, the vet says she might have to lance it to get the pressure off. Guest guest
Goll, it's been a while I forget. One of our natural food stores no doubt. I wouldn't be surprised if it is readily available a number of places. It's a powder and comes in a big jar....it's super powerful stuff. I've used it sparingly. You can mix it with various juices .....like grape, cucumber. I googled it and a whole slew of sites selling it came up...this was the first listing. Hope it comes thru hot. http://www.mothernature.com/Shop/Brands/index.cfm/b/11577 Kit > and where do you get your clay from???? > Suzi > > Do you have any clay products to use as a drawing poultice. Guest guest
Take a couple drops in some distilled water and syringe or eye drop it down him.. He already hates me for all the crap I'm dosing him with now. ;-)Gloria Suzi What is a weed? Guest guest
After it dries....fill an eye dropper with warm water and apply to the base of poultice til it softens enough not to pull the skin. Guest guest
Here's a trick I use to get the cat not to hate me for 'meds'. Never, ever, let them run away after 'medicating'. Assuming you've already got a good secure hold, totally calm them down....talking, petting, loving. Loosen a little...if he wants to bolt...don't let him and repeat calming....keep repeating until he won't run and just sits when you loosen your grip. Now, all of mine sit still for 'meds' and in fact stick around for the extra lovin' ....to them 'meds' eguals a second of yuck and lotsa extra lovin'. It's no longer a 'threat','attack', 'attempted poisoning', 'punishment'....but almost...almost....a treat. It works on all 7!! And, I have given them some of the most nasty bitter stuff...and 'asked' them to sit still for a food syringe full of stuff....no small feat, in my book. It won't happen after one time but it will continue to get easier til it's....almost...a piece of cake. Good luck, Kit > But Gloria, ST is an antibiotic... keep this in mind depending on the condition going on in the mouth. > > I'll give him some on my finger and see his reaction. Guest guest
It does, ultimately, have to do with molecule size....and whether the pores are open or closed.
