Thankyou Kit :)

is headstrong to say the least and even pain will not stop him here. DDR is short for Dance Dance Revolution. Besides loving this insane activity, he is amazingly talented and is in competition level. Wish I could do it as it is the ultimate fat burner though of course that is not the main objective.

Thankyou for the recommendation. There is no shoe unfortunately that can protect the toes with this. I am actually trying to design one though not sure if this would even take flight but as usual my brain is moving :)

Have a wonderful night

Toni

Kit,

No kicking per se' just bashing. There are tons of forums that he belongs to. In the beginning his entire foot was gashed open and now it is just the toes but of course it is the intense pain and not just the bleeding and bruising that is of issue.

Yes, this storm is unreal. New Orleans at least can breathe some relief that it turned away from them some not a direct slam. We can also thank this storm for the immense rate surge for oil. It went up and the storm had not even hit NO yet.

My thoughts and prayers are with anyone affected by her.

Thankyou Kit :)

Have a beautiful day

Toni

If he does not do any kicking ....and it's just a constant pressurethat may be difficult. Runner's damage their toes from the constantpressure stikes. Sounds like there might be something similiar goingon...but that just a guess. This is the first I've heard of DDR. Youmight want to research running sites, as well, and see if anyone'scome up with any ideas. If someone can come up with those silly shoesfor burning more fat..... ...course weightloss industry has big payoff.;-) KitPS. Wow....I had no idea how bad this hurricane is...we didn't praythat hard!!!

Tony,

Just my thought on your son's toes. :) What I do whenever I cut or smash

something on my poor body is gently wrap it in paper surgical tape. (It HAS

to be paper!) The paper tape doesn't bind the joints, it becomes soft and

pliable, almost like a second skin, and it protects the area until healing

takes place. In fact, if I quickly wrap a cut or scrape with surgical tape,

it does not become infected. The tape holds everything in place, and for

this reason, it pretty much immediately stops all pain. It keeps the damaged

area from being further abused by the natural movement of that part of the

body. I have used it on many kinds of injuries, and I swear by it :) . When

I take it off after a week or so, the wound is gone and the area is covered

with new skin, and there is no pain. Plus, it peels off, leaving no adhesive

on the skin, and taking no skin with it. :)

Other types of tape, (cloth, plastic, etc.), have such strong adhesive that

they can actually cause more damage to the skin while wearing them, and

taking them off in the end is a nightmare. The paper tape is more protective

than a mere Bandaid because it is actually holding the damaged areas in

place, whereas a Bandaid allows slippage beneath the gauze.

You may think that this sounds weird, but those who try paper tape do become

converted to its ability to protect the body while healing takes place.

Hi Toni,

I don't know what DDR is but yes he's on his way to long term

problems...if he continues to bash them....might be chronic pain

problems. Often, it's the price people pay for doing what they love.

And, it's pretty hard to tell the young that one day they may be

sorry. It's kinda one of those lessons they'll be learning on their

own. Isn't there some kind of shoe that he can wear to protect them.

I know that runner's often loose toenails...the big toenail, esp.

....they grow back. Just try to keep everything clean and do what you

can to encourage healing...yunnan paiyao would be my choice.

Maybe one day the pain will make him look for another

pastime....that's usually how it works.

Good luck,

Kit

> I need some advice for my son's toes. As I have mentioned

before, he does DDR which puts alot of impact on his toes. Well both

toes have damage but the right one is worse. The nail itself is black

but is trying to heal. The area between the nail and skin which I

guess is the cuticle is constantly bleeding and oozing. Putting on

socks is even very painful to him. Of course the best thing would be

to let this heal without any further impact but he is only going a few

days inbetween playing.

> I have had him put super tonic on it as well as tea tree oil though

I had him put this on the nail rather then the cut. I even bought

silver bandaids for him to use.

> Is there something I can get for him to hasten the healing? I am

concerned with him having long term problems because of the constant

bashing of his toes.
