Guest guest
Hi Joy, Please tell me: what are the improvements that have taken place in your body/life now that you are taking this particular cream.. Thanks, Sue Actually almost every woman produces more than enough estrogen in her fat cells alone. The problem is that you can't use the estrogen your body does produce without progesterone, and the body doesn't produce progesterone after the ovaries have stopped functioning. In fact, progesterone starts going downhill in the early 20's. And is gone by the time you hit menopause. So it is the progesterone your body needs, in order to make use of the estrogen. Most women with flashes are able to completely relieve the problem with progesterone cream. Unfortunatly yam cream won't work for this - its not bioidentical to the body's progesterone, does not enable your body to use its own estrogen. See http://www.hormoneprofiles.com or get some of Dr. Lee's books from the library for more information. I tried many food adjustments and herbal remedies before learning that progesterone was the problem, and nothing worked until I started using a bioidentical progesterone cream. Wish I had known about this 20 years ago. Joy > -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter for private users. It has removed 57 spam emails to date. Guest guest
Sue, I've noticed since I started using some progestrone cream (I am in the menopause stage, stopped periods 2 years ago or so).that I am now starting to be moist again instead of very dry during sex...(which is a blessing!) Guest guest
Hi, yes I can tell you about that. I have had severe PMS for the last twenty some years. Last couple years it has been excruciating, and extending from the original 3-5 days up to nearly two weeks, starting at midcycle. I would force myself to keep doing the things that I had to do during that time, but spent a big part of each day curled around the heating pad. This extended PMS time occured about the same time my hot flashes started, about three years ago. For some women hot flashes are a transitional phenomena, occuring just as the body adjusts to the new hormone levels. For me they continue, as do my periods, although my periods have become quite erratic, occasionally missing a month, occasionally having two in a month, in general shorter than they used to be - I always was a very heavy bleeder, huge clots that would flood whatever protection I was using. There has been some relief from that as perimenopause continues. However, since finding the progesterone cream, I no longer have disabling pain each month. I still will have some minor bloating in my breasts at midcycle and again prior to my period, but using a little extra cream during those days relieves that problem. No more disabling cramps. I too have had increased lubrication as well. Skin and hair happier/healthier - were drying out. I definately did not need any additional estrogen. My problem all these years, I realized after learning about progesterone cream, has been one of estrogen dominance - my body having way too much free-circulating estrogen, unable to be used because of too little progesterone. Estrogen domnance is not the only cause of PMS symptoms, but it plays a major part in many women's pain and discomfort. As does the lack of progesterone for perimenopausal women. As someone else mentioned, often women also need a small amount of testosterone. There are saliva tests that can be purchased online to determine which hormones you are deficient in. Preferably I would find a non-traditional health care provider who is familiar with these bioidentical hormones and with the appropriate tests. I would not use any hormone without first doing saliva or blood testing to determine actual need, and would not continue their use without periodic retesting, as our bodies fluctuate and change. You asked someone else about HRT. The dangers that studies over the last years refer to from HRT are all using artificial forms of estrogen and or estrogen/progesterone combinations. To my knowledge there haven't been similar studies done with bioidentical creams. However, from my perspective a large part of the problem with traditional med forms of HRT is the fact that they are overloading a system with estrogen which the women already likely has too much off, unable to use since her progesterone is rapidly fading. I believe the relief some women find from traditional HRT's is due to the progesterone also included in most of those combinations. The average American woman is also environmentally flooded with estrogenic substances (or substances mimicking estrogens)if she eats meat, or soy products, or even if she uses plastic in food preparation or storage.
