Good girl for getting in your water...pure or > not LOL I'm wondering if I can get a similar taste with watered down Crystal Light. We have some lemonade on hand so I think I'll give it a try with maybe twice as much water. Regular Crystal Light is too strong a taste and not refreshing like Fruit 2 O. I don't mind buying cases of Fruit 2 O at Sam's but lugging home tiny packets of powder would be much more convenient. Ann

Hey, don't knock it. The only way I would knock that is to complain about paying soda prices for water and splenda. Why not just take a water bottle and fill it 1/4 or less juice and the rest water? Guest guest
I love Splenda! It's much better than any of the other sugar substiatues! Mindyscrapper gal <scrappergal@...> wrote: Thanks everyone for the wonderful suggestions and comments on #1 question. I'm thinking if he'll buy some of that Splenda for baking that might be good. Has anyone tried it? He bakes me zuchinni bread all the time and uses applesauce in place of the oil all ready. If he used the Splenda for baking then it'd be even healthier, right? Guest guest
A new study done at Duke University and published this past week in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health Part A has some frightening news about Splenda (sucralose). According to the study, the use of Splenda actually reduces the amount of good bacteria in the intestines by 50%! There are three more scary things they found in the study. Guest guest
But, while RATS were given huge doses per bodyweight to support a negative result, just a few milligrams are used in a pop or coffee in humans who weigh 300 times as much! The study also did not bother to ensure normal amounts of inulin in the rats' food, which would have skewed the result and allowed the probiotic bacteria to maintain normal populations http://www.informaworld.com/smpp/content~content=a902553409~db=all~jump type=rss <snip>Splenda was administered by oral gavage at 100, 300, 500, or 1000 mg/kg to male Sprague-Dawley rats for 12-wk</snip> So, this study is not scary at all or even conclusive for humans; just more incomplete work to use as fodder for the scaremongers.
