Hi :

I agree: better not to generalize. I also don't believe in high-carb

diets. Nor have I ever said I follow one. What worries me is a non-carb

diet. I think this can be problematic for many people, not low or

moderate.

I was once following the macrobiotic diet (80% is brown rice) so I am

much " schooled " so to say about the dangers of high-carb.

Strangely enough, I hear about people who do well on a vegetarian diet

(including eggs and dairy), but I don't know how truthful their reports

are.

Regards,

José

Marilu Henner (a celebrity here in case you don't know who she is,

) ate a macrobiotic diet for a long time, i think, lost

wt, looked fantastic and wrote books and had a program for people to

follow. she's totally anti-dairy and anti-meat but i think

she 'allowed' fish and maybe chicken. she was basically vegan, i

think, for many years...i wonder how she is now, i wonder if she is

still healthy and if she has been incorporating animal products into

her regime.

my understanding about vegans, is, they do okay for awhile but then

it begins to catch up with them, and they suffer ill effects.
