MSG, THE SILENT KILLER (It Adds Weight Too) I was shocked to look into my kitchen, checking thecupboards and the fridge to find MSG was ineverything! The 's soups, the Hostess Doritos, the Lays flavored potato chips, Top Ramen, BettyCrocker Hamburger Helper, Heinz canned gravy, Swansonfrozen prepared meals, Kraft salad dressings, especially the 'healthy low fat' ones. The items thatdidn't have MSG had something called HydrolyzedVegetable Protein, which is just another name forMonosodium Glutamate. It was shocking to see just howmany of the foods we feed our children everyday arefilled with this stuff. They hide MSG under manydifferent names in order to fool those who catch on. But it didn't stop there. When our family went out toeat, we started asking at the restaurants what menuitems had MSG. Many employees, even the managers, swore they didn't use MSG. But when we ask for theingredient list which they grudgingly provided, sureenough MSG and Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein wereeverywhere. Burger King, Mcs, 's, TacoBell, every restaurant, even the sit down ones likeTGIF, Chilis', Applebees and Denny's use MSG inabundance. Kentucky Fried Chicken seemed to be theWORST offender: MSG was in every chicken dish, saladdressing and gravy. No wonder I loved to eat thatcoating on the skin, their secret spice was MSG!So why is MSG in so may of the foods we eat? Is it apreservative or a vitamin? Not according to an exposeby Erb of the food additive industry called TheSlow Poisoning of America.http://www.spofamerica.com/ The MSG manufacturers themselves admit that it addictspeople to their products. It makes people choose theirproduct over others, and makes people eat more of itthan they would if MSG wasn't added. Not only is MSGscientifically proven to cause obesity, it is anaddictive substance!Since its introduction into the American food supplyfifty years ago, MSG has been added in larger andlarger doses to the prepackaged meals, soups, snacksand fast foods we are tempted to eat everyday. The FDAhas set no limits on how much of it can be added tofood. They claim it's safe to eat in any amount. Howcan they claim it is safe when there are hundreds ofscientific studies that say otherwise.?
