Guest guest
Hello. I joined this group in the hopes of finding tips and advice from people dealing with Candida overgrowth. I started to have serious problems after a high dose of antibiotics, including IV antibiotics. Within about six months of finishing the antibiotic treatment, I developed a case of nasty moccasin type athlete's foot. Sometimes my feet crack and bleed so badly that walking is torture. Up until recently, my diet was also horrible. I know that made the symptoms worse. I've started on a strict anti-yeast diet and I've been taking both oral coconut oil (gross), using the coconut oil topically on my poor feet and Solaray's Yeast-Cleanse (less gross). Tomorrow, I intend to start taking GSE and a MSM supplement. And… I actually feel WORSE. Yes, I read this could happen, but I don't think I had a clue how rotten this could be. I am covered from head to toe in an itchy rash. I get the chills, I ran a fever for a few days. (the good news is I've lost about 15 pounds right away). Do people really " recover " from this and get the Candida under control? I'm so miserable. I really need to know that people actually come out the other side of this feel better. Thank you! Guest guest
The key to getting rid of candida, N, includes bringing up the numbers of natural probitics in the gut so they can control the pathogens, candida included. The yeast cleansers may be useful but they do not change the biological terrain so even if you use them you need to feed your pobiotics more inulin. Here's the science on inulin: http://tinyurl.com/inulins Careful about some " anti-yeast " diets such as the one Bee Wilder posts on her group ; hers and a few others rely on and promote " candida myths " and in doing so they avoid using certain products that are so useful that they form the very core of the more successful candida regimes like ours on this list, for example inulin, whey, selenium, and potassium. The misguided individuals also sometimes promote some potentially harmful approaches like the use of excess salt, and ignore your debilitating health effects that arise from using the wrong approach as Bee Wilder does. Some of our listmates' comments on that appear on my comments page: http://tinyurl.com/comments-page Your rashes can be controlled practically overnight with topical ozonated olive oil. This will also heal your feet very quickly. Here's the tinyurl for " Nature's Gift " ozonated olive oil: http://aloeessence.com You can probably recover substantially in a couple of months. all good, Duncan > > Hello. Guest guest
Yes the die-off can be bad and go on and on, but it does stop being really bad pretty fast, a few days or weeks. I find Threelac and raw fermented sauerkraut to be helpful. I'm just starting inulin. I've also heard apple cider vinegar is good and it does give me die-off (8 caps at a time). Like you I was on a bunch of antifungals (prescription and non, incl. Diflucan) but I felt worse and worse, and I find the things I mentioned above are working better. Colonics help a lot too. They clean out the toxins before they get reabsorbed. Take a tsp. of psyllium at night and in the morning. People do get better. Diet is key. If you do Threelac (that's a probiotic that eats yeast) you should stop antifungals at least for a few weeks. It brought me a lot of die-off for a couple days but then I started to feel better. Not the whole answer though. Food grade hydrogen peroxide, a drop or two per day in water, is supposed to be good to give your system oxygen, which the candida hates (or there is this stuff Oxygen Elements and other oxygen supplements). I'm going to try it. I think for now you're doing the right thing and when the numbers of yeast or down you might want to try something else. For me the initial big die-off lasted a month. The site earthclinic.com has some good ratings of various treatments, and Amazon reviews are useful for learning about the usefulness products. The symptoms are different in everyone--you have skin things, mine is body pain, others have stomach problems. Good luck. Vicky > > Hello.
