Guest guest
I know someone asked about maintenance the other day but didn't get a chance to respond. You can take biotin for maintenance. You need magnesium for proper absorption, so if you start getting headaches, increase magnesium. Other B vitamins tend to increase yeast, so you might want to stay away from it. Someone said that biotin " prevents yeast from taking a different form that makes it much harder for the body to recognize it and kill it. " A lot of autistic kids with candida problems do very well on biotin and anti-fungal meds (sometimes probiotics aren't tolerated well by kids, mine included). You can start at 5mg/day and slowly work up to 20mg/day (or even less, depending on how good your diet is). When yeast does flare up, you can treat it with GSE for a week or 2. I take Nutribiotic's 125mg tablet. I start taking 1/day for a week in between meals, then 2 the following week. You could probably take it 3 times a day depending on how bad it is. Since this is my first round of this, I'm at 3 a day until next month (I see a nutritionist). HTH!
