Dentist's offices are not equipped to deal with a bleeding out patient. Consequently, they don't want to take on the responsibility. Guest guest
Good question Sharon! Several years ago, when I changed dentists when I moved across town to marry hubby, I told his dentist I had hep C. Dentist calls doc, doc's office says no hep C. Would someone lie about that? sheesh So now I got insurance again and I'd like to have my teeth cleaned at least. I haven't tried going to dentist yet. Should I bother to tell him AGAIN I have hep and I'm on treatment? My labwork even in the 5th month is all normal, nothing has changed drastically so I shouldn't have to worry about bleeding etc. But still he should know. Docs are so stubborn sometimes ya know? I hope I don't have that problem! good luck

Guest guest
Sharon, I have a WONDERFUL dentist who said he would not even consider NOT treating me. In fact, everytime I have an appointment, he spends the first 10 minutes asking me how I am doing, how the treatment is going and what can HE do for ME!!!!! He shows genuine concern, and said he is not worried about " catching " anything from me, because he wears gloves, etc. as he does with EVERYONE!!! I am soo lucky to have such a great dentist! Guest guest
So, I went to the dentist for a deep cleaning of my gums. After years of compulsive overeating, soda drinking, too much sugar, etc., the damage has been done. I've almost been " clean " for nearly a year with my food, on a candida free program and have enjoyed feeling better for the first time in years. So the hygenist wants to give me antibiotics inside these capsules below the gum line because she says my decay is getting to close to the bone, and I'm going to lose more structure if I don't get rid of the bacteria. I said I'm opposed to an antibiotic because I've had problems in the past, my digestive system is finally healing and I don't want it. Is there an alternative, I asked. First I got the old, no one else has ever had a problem with it. Then I got the reason that since I'm not ingesting it through my stomach, it's not " systematic " (whatever that means) and it's only going to affect my gums, not my entire body. Well, that just didn't feel right and I said no. Then she checked to see if my insurance would cover it and they charge $80 per tooth, so it would've been over $600. My insurance would've paid $300. I said no. Can't afford it. Oh yes, I asked her what the antibiotic was, and was told it's tetracycline. Years ago I used this and it turned 2 of my teeth dark brown. No way ever again. Then I asked if I could just use a water pick with hydrogen perioxide and she said no that won't get rid of the bacteria. Does anyone know or have any suggestions? I'm trying to stay clean with my food and really do not want any antibiotics unless it's absolutely necessary. Did I do the right thing? Well, besides not going into debt (oh yeah, they offered to " finance " it for me). At this point, I'm not going back because it feels like they're trying to hose me. They were going to also replace all my crowns and fillings with porcelain instead the mercury-amalgam(?) that I have now. I know I need to get rid of the mercury, too but something just doesn't seem right here. Suzie
Guest guest
I've had that procedure done, and let me tell you, I never get yeast infections when on oral antibiotics, but this one gave me one! She is lying or doesn't know anything. Amalgam removal is good, but they have to be done the proper way, otherwise the mercury could end up in your system. Here's the protocol: http://www.holisticmed.com/dental/amalgam/iaomt.txt Technically they should be replaced by a qualified and equipped dentist: http://www.iaomt.org/patients/search.aspx Since I've heard they can charge a ton, I talked to my regular dentist to see if he can implememt some of the protocols, and he was very willing. I had one out of 7 replaced already. There are supplements you can take before and after the removal so your body can eliminate it naturally (some might still end up in your blood/organs/brain). They're Vitamin C and selenium. That's it. I think the peroxide problem is that long-term use (or high concentration) can cause damage to teeth and gums. I think they're fine as long as you don't overdo it. LMK how it goes - I do have permanent bone loss on some molars due to not going to the dentist for cleaning for over a decade. I do use a Braun electric toothbrush which gets rid of most buildup and tartar. I also get my teeth cleaned 3 times a year which helps a lot. You might want to go 4 times a year to see if you see any improvement. That's the first step your hygenist/dentist needs to suggest. I even tried tea tree oil as it's a good natural antibacterial. I put a drop or 2 into my fluoride mouth wash. I'm not sure if it did anything though. I'm also thinking grapefruit seed extract, oil of oregano, or olive leaf extract would help. You could consult a holistic dentist or physician.
Guest guest
To clean out the bacteria, swish daily with a mixture of coconut oil and a few drops of clove oil for five minutes several times a day. Guest guest
Wow! Thanks you guys! I'm going to try the oil pulling and see what happens. In the meantime, I'm going to also look for a new dentist. Maybe one day we'll have decent health coverage here in the US. Question about the coconut oil: mine is hard, not liquid. Do I have to heat it up? I suppose microwaving it would be bad. How much should I use of the coconut oil. Thanks! Suzie
