Treatment for pussed out infected finger

A family member had a finger get infected up by the nail. The

last inch or so swelled out half again it's normal size. Not

trusting me (he's developmentally disabled), he went to the doctor

who squeezed some of the pus out and put him on a course of

antibiotics. The next 3 or 4 days he soaked it in domboro morning

and night and took the antibiotics with no change in the finger.

With two days left on his antibiotics that didn't seem to be

working anyway I decided that was enough pussing around and pushed a

bit for a better course of action. He agreed to give it a try.

Staying on his meds, we switched to a plantain leaf tea soak morning

and night and after each soak would plaster the wound with powdered

marshmallow root mixed with myrhh and honey.

The results? The next morning was the first time it looked

better, the second (this morning) it was obviously well on it's way

to healing. We're continueing the treatment. I'ld like to have him

take complete tonic internally but he is so very fussy and wouldn't

do that if he was dying so we make do with the slower approach. I

am quite pleased with how well the herbs are working on one NASTY

infection.

As a side note, took a sample of his finger puss and put it

in some water. I'm planning on making a homeopathic tincture of it

for future infected wounds. " Like cures like " and even found a

similiar treatment in an official homeopathic materia medica, they

call it pyrogenium. Don't know if it will ever get used but it's a

cool project.
