Ouch! That's alot to pay to do harm to yourself, Toni!!

Aside from the well-known dangers....I learned, in my Western Med.

class, that every single condition is worsened in a smoker.

Also smoking brings on menopause early. So I sure hope you quit

sooner than later.

No need for anyone to BUY horseradish root, I've got a large area devoted to the dear root. When we ate meat I used to make my own sauce and it was dearly deadly. Now I'm experimenting.

Anyone wants any contact me off list with your address and I'll send some to you.

Yes, this IS TRUE, AND: there are ways to help you stop if you want to.

Over the counter and by prescription. I used Nicorette gum (in 1983) and

it worked! After that stage, I used only other people's :)...

Anyway, it is up to you, and I, personally, wish to change the subject....

so...

Anyone know what to do about a strained ankle? I have compression on

it and used ice. Should heat be used?

Thanks,

Sue

Holy s#$%!!!!!!!!!!!! That is obscene and you actually pay? When I quit cigs were $1.50 a pack and that's why I quit, among other things! Oh my gosh, I cannot believe $6 a pack for sickness and death. Unbelievable.

I just read that GM is eliminating 25,000 jobs because they can't afford the health insurance they offer their employees. Moving to a third world country where health insurance is not so expensive. Sheesh, and people wonder why the US is in such a mess.

Sorry for the Monday madness - Shari

Sue,

I usually do hot and cold alternating every 10-15 minutes 3 times each, several times a day.

tumeric or msm would also be good to take. Arnica is another (as a cream or ointment)

That's part of the problem. It doesn't work so well dried, because it's the sap in the stalk that is what you need. You cut up the stalk and put it and the leaves into a dedoction and then strain it and freeze it in ice cube trays for use on rashes.

The only thing I can think to do would be to send it fresh overnight, but I'm not sure it would make it. Or I could make you a decoction and send it to you in a jar??

nope... no pretty little orange flowers... could you dry it and send it?? I could still make a salve...(which is what I want to do with it)

Shucks....I know how hard it is, Toni! Addiction specialists would

rather work with heroin addicts than smokers!!

But there are lots of forms of help out there. People successfully

quit all time. I realize that everyone is different and just because

alot of other people do it doesn't mean that it comes easy to you.

One has to have a true desire.....not just a desire for the

desire....if you know what I mean.

Of course, you can chalk it up to smoking is you and then of course it

will be you and all that much harder to give up.

I hope you will find something that will instill in you the

desire....the desire is the ONLY thing that will make you quit.

Okay, didn't mean to confuse you...

this is my recipe now you won't be confused... lol.. but in the bottle of water is good. or scrunched in a jar with any carrier oil just covering it also good... I'll take whatever you send me and make it work...

Poison Ivy: Make your own jewelweed salve. Its real easy. All you do is simmer (or low cook in a crock pot) a handful of the stems in a quart of olive oil for 15 minutes or so,(1/2 hour to 1 hour on low in crock) strain out the stems, then add a handful of beeswax and heat till melted. Then you take a spoonful and let it cool. Add (if needed) wax or oil until you get the consistency you want. Then pop open a vitamin E caplet (oil soluble) and stir that in. Store in airtight containers in fridge. It's supposed to last several months in fridge. Suggested Uses: 1. rub a small amount on hands if you are going to be exposed to poison ivy. 2. rub a small amount on exposed area if you were not prepared and got exposed to the stuff. 3. rub small amount on

rash if it appears. This is also supposed to be good for athletes foot, ringworm, stinging nettles, bee stings, and bug bites.Sharyn Cerniglia <sharyn.cerniglia@...> wrote:

Okay, now I'm getting confused. I was going to go pick some and make you a decoction with water, not oil, and send it to you in plastic water bottles. The only thing I know of that jewelweed is good for is poison ivy and I don't get that so don't need any. Email me your address and if I don't get to it before this weekend I'll definitely do it over the weekend. If a water decoction is what you want.<G>
