You can use the potassium broth recipe or check the Seasoning file under food and drink recipes... there is one there... If making veggie soup, using water with different herbs and seasonings works.

Hi all,

Can someone please tell me how I can make my own vegetable broth. I want to try making a soup for my son and the only veggie broth I know of is cubes which I would rather not use plus I guess I would need a bunch :) I'm gonna try mixing spinach and basil and making it real fine and tell him it is all basil :) A little lie but a good one.

My guyfriend of four years broke up with me I guess since he hasn't taken my calls for four days now so I spent today sick with my stomach all day. I am better now and tomorrow is a new day.

People sure can be rotten. I don't even know what I could have done wrong..lol...oh well

Anyway, the stomach took care of the never ending virus on one good note :)__________________________________________________

Thankyou Suzi for the potassium recipe advice I will try that and thanks for the encouraging words. He was always so good to me and Ant and so respectful. But very very jealous ( I was always loyal and honest) and moody. I cannot imagine what I said. He will not even answer my many calls and I will not call again as I am sick of doing that and just plain sick. I drank a quart bottle of beer today and it made everything so much worse. It is not the answer and honestly, I no longer have the desire :)

Sue, he loved my nurturing so it is not that. He does not have a Mother so even if that was the case, it would not have bothered him. He loved my attention.

As far as another one, I am done. I put my heart and entire soul into this person like I have never done before. He totally understood my many situations and it is a shame but I will survive as I have far worse then this.

Being the weekend it was just harder today.

Thanks so much

Wishing all a wonderful night

Hugs,

Tone

Here's one I like, and use as often as possible............

RICH VEGETABLE STOCK

This stock is good enough to serve as a first-course consommé. Sautéing the vegetables before adding the water gives an additional richness to the stock. If you wish, adding a 1- to 2-inch piece of kombu seaweed will add a further depth of flavor. This stock will keep for two days, covered, in the refrigerator. It can also be frozen; divide it into 2- or 3-cup freezer containers. The jalapenos are optional for making the stock spicy.

2 tablespoons high-quality olive oil

2 large ribs of celery, including the leaves, cut into l-inch pieces'

2 carrots, coarsely chopped 1 large onion, chopped

2 leeks, chopped (white part only)

3 green onions

3 garlic cloves, peeled

1/2 cup chopped parsley, including the stems

1/4 cup fresh chopped basil (or 2 tablespoons dried basil)

1 teaspoon dried marjoram

1/2 cup chopped button mushrooms

1 zucchini, peeled and sliced

3cups coarsely chopped tomatoes

3jalapeno chiles, seeds and stems removed, chopped (optional)

10 cups cold water

5 whole black peppercorns

Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven. Add the celery and the carrots and sauté for a minute; then add the remaining ingredients (except the water and peppercorns) and sauté for 5 minutes.

Heat at low heat, cover, and cook for 2 hours. Remove the cover and cook for another 30 minutes. Strain the stock through a fine strainer.

Hi ,

Hope all is well and you are feeling better. The veggie soup stock looks good though that is my budget for the month..lol I will play around though. I am not a soup eater at all just fetching for ideas to get this son of mine alittle bit healthy and maybe get some meat on his bones since he barely eats.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Be well, take care of yourself and have a beautiful and blessed day!

Tone
