Guest guest
Hi Toni, I don't know what DDR is but yes he's on his way to long term problems...if he continues to bash them....might be chronic pain problems. Often, it's the price people pay for doing what they love. And, it's pretty hard to tell the young that one day they may be sorry. It's kinda one of those lessons they'll be learning on their own. Isn't there some kind of shoe that he can wear to protect them. I know that runner's often loose toenails...the big toenail, esp. ....they grow back. Just try to keep everything clean and do what you can to encourage healing...yunnan paiyao would be my choice. https://www.ancientway.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=489 & osCsid=03014\ 04da77730eb96063ae4a6e35ac7 Maybe one day the pain will make him look for another pastime....that's usually how it works. Good luck, Kit > Hello Everyone, > > I need some advice for my son's toes. As I have mentioned before, he does DDR which puts alot of impact on his toes. Well both toes have damage but the right one is worse. The nail itself is black but is trying to heal. The area between the nail and skin which I guess is the cuticle is constantly bleeding and oozing. Putting on socks is even very painful to him. Of course the best thing would be to let this heal without any further impact but he is only going a few days inbetween playing. > I have had him put super tonic on it as well as tea tree oil though I had him put this on the nail rather then the cut. Guest guest
I would get the leaf c/s or leaf powder.. the leaf is better for healing ... if you're going to be doing poultices and salves, get the powder. Guest guest
yep! poultice would be best.Tone <tone102@...> wrote: Thankyou Suzi. Maybe I will get both. Should I usually go for the leaves if I am going to tincture? I get confused. I know we have discussed this in the past and I apologize. My memory is so bad now that I am not even able to remember the earlier part of the day nevermind what discussions have abound. Going back to Ant's toe again, how should I use this comfrey? I was assuming that I should make a poultice from it. Sorry for all the trouble.. Appreciate it all Suzi Suzi What is a weed? Guest guest
If he does not do any kicking ....and it's just a constant pressure that may be difficult. Runner's damage their toes from the constant pressure stikes. Sounds like there might be something similiar going on...but that just a guess. This is the first I've heard of DDR. You might want to research running sites, as well, and see if anyone's come up with any ideas. If someone can come up with those silly shoes for burning more fat..... ...course weightloss industry has big payoff. ;-) Kit PS. Wow....I had no idea how bad this hurricane is...we didn't pray that hard!!! > Thankyou Kit > > is headstrong to say the least and even pain will not stop him here. DDR is short for Dance Dance Revolution. Besides loving this insane activity, he is amazingly talented and is in competition level. Wish I could do it as it is the ultimate fat burner though of course that is not the main objective. > Thankyou for the recommendation. There is no shoe unfortunately that can protect the toes with this. I am actually trying to design one though not sure if this would even take flight but as usual my brain is moving > > Have a wonderful night > Toni
Guest guest
Morning Shari, DDR is Dance Dance Revolution. It is hard to explain. Well for me anyway. It is done on a very hard box. Basically, it is following arrows to the beat of insane music. You would have to see it to believe it. My son is competition level. He is also in the top ten on the East coast for the online finger version. Coordination is not my thing at all. The toes are being constantly bashed into the top of the shoe. This is not just his problem, it is pretty much common around the more avid players. I accidentally hit his shoed toe last night and so I allowed him to squeeze my arm which he almost did puncture..lol His toe hurts THAT bad. I gave him a tea bag last night to put on it hoping it would at least stop oozing and bleeding (only had pau D'arco) but it did not. And Shar, I bought him a good pair of running shoes which were just making it worse. He does best with skater sneaks. I cannot believe that with all the craze of this that any of the major shoe manufacturers have not picked up on it and designed something. I am trying to do that myself as I 'gutted' out an old shoe to play with. I appreciate any suggestions. I just cannot see this ever being able to heal as long as he continues which he plans on doing inspite of the intense pain.Oh and you will find DDR and similiar machines in arcades. What was apparently made to be a "game" has become a very competitive "sport" and in my views a very dangerous one in many ways besides affecting just the toes. Have a wonderful day Toni What is DDR? When I know that then maybe I can make some suggestions. I know my son was a distance runner and his toes took a beating when his shoes didn't fit correctly.
