Vegetarians do not eat any animals. As for the weight loss, well I lost about 9 kgs this year from early Jan to mid March just by going raw. I was already vegan for a few years. This might be tough for some people to do but it is very effective to get excess weight off! best regards Persian -- " As long as people will shed the blood of innocent creatures there can be no peace, no liberty, no harmony between people. Guest guest
" .....lacto-ovo vegetarian that eats fish. " I understand this to be a predominant-vegetarian....that occasionally eats fish...or will eat fish. Technically ... " lacto-ovo " isn't really vegetarian either but we accept the distinction. Sorta: vegetarian=vegan=vegetarian... but folks know they're different...or that they eat more than vegetables. If you're going to do raw, now would be the best time to make the adjustment while we still have warm/hot weather. In fact, it probably wouldn't hurt to do predominant raw right now. It's more natural this time of year. Eat seasonally, eat locally. There is no reason to heat hot food because it is winter, they just put extra stress on the body. It is easy to get used to eating cold foods and I don't even notice it any more! Guest guest
Why? I went all raw in the middle of January 8 years ago. I also fast every February for the entire month. And I live in the northern hemisphere so it's our winter. Raw foods has helped me cope with menopause, emotional balance, as well as hot and cold weather extremes. Guest guest
Ok, are you drinking much water?... Are the juices processed? Guest guest
Thanks Shari, But as i have a cold constitution I feel that cold foods in winter make me worse. Each of us are different. Guest guest
Peta, Drink your water at room temp... not cold... take your coffee to 1 cup a day -- hot choc... well, can you switch to an herbal tea for that? Veggies.. lightly steamed or over steamed... Try adding lemon to your water.. and drink more water. Also, check out the recipe files.. you'll find lots of good recipes there. Guest guest
Ditto on the water...caffeine is dehydrating so drink double the amount of water for every oz./ml of caffeinated drink.
