First of all I hope you don't mind my pointing out that anyone who

eats fish is definitely not a vegetarian at all! Vegetarians do not

eat any animals.

As for the weight loss, well I lost about 9 kgs this year from

early Jan to mid March just by going raw. I was already vegan

for a few years. This might be tough for some people to do but it

is very effective to get excess weight off!

best regards

" .....lacto-ovo vegetarian that eats fish. "

I understand this to be a predominant-vegetarian....that occasionally

eats fish...or will eat fish.

Technically ... " lacto-ovo " isn't really vegetarian either but we

accept the distinction.

Sorta:

vegetarian=vegan=vegetarian... but folks know they're different...or

that they eat more than vegetables.

If you're going to do raw, now would be the best time to make the

adjustment while we still have warm/hot weather. In fact, it probably

wouldn't hurt to do predominant raw right now. It's more natural this

time of year. Eat seasonally, eat locally.

I am not Kit, however I live in Wellington New Zealand

and it is winter here too but I am eating all raw and even

my hubby eats raw for dinner every night. There is no reason

to heat hot food because it is winter, they just put extra

stress on the body. It is easy to get used to eating cold

foods and I don't even notice it any more!

Why? I went all raw in the middle of January 8 years ago. I also fast every February for the entire month. And I live in the northern hemisphere so it's our winter.

Raw foods has helped me cope with menopause, emotional balance, as well as hot and cold weather extremes.

Ok, are you drinking much water?... Are the juices processed? Try to go more to the raw or lightly steamedPeta Celleste <petacelleste@...> wrote:

Thanks Suzie,I will do that in the Summer and when Spring arrives, just got to find the right veggies this time of yearas most are tasteless raw. When I am at work I drinknothing but soups, water and fruit juices and gothrough about 1.5 litres in a 7 hours shift as I donot get a meal break. At home I eat sandwiches, crumpets and toast for breakfasts and lunch andwhatever is cooked to to be cooked at meal timesbecause of our busy schedule.Peta--- suziesgoats wrote:---------------------------------> Hi All,> > I really would like to lose some weight as I think> this is my issue of tiredness, I do have iron and> thyroid issues that are under control with meds but>

Thanks Shari,

But as i have a cold constitution I feel that cold

foods in winter make me worse. Each of us are

different.

So, Peta what is your dosha that you think you have a cold constitution? I just eat more hot peppers and ginger in the winter to stay warm.

Peta,

Drink your water at room temp... not cold... take your coffee to 1 cup a day -- hot choc... well, can you switch to an herbal tea for that? Veggies.. lightly steamed or over steamed...

Try adding lemon to your water.. and drink more water. Also, check out the recipe files.. you'll find lots of good recipes there.

Hi Suzie,I do drink a lot of fluids but not water on its own asin winter it is hard to drink cold things so my fluidintake is varied but I usually over a day drink about2-3 cups of coffee, 1 cup of hot chocolate, 2 glassesof fruit juice, 2 cups of soup, 2 glasses of water,1-2 cups of herbal or green tea. Vegetables arealways steamed when we cook.

Ditto on the water...caffeine is dehydrating so drink double the

amount of water for every oz./ml of caffeinated drink.
