ok, what about sprouting them, freezing them, dehydrating them (after sprouting them)SV <shavig@...> wrote:

I know these aren't medicinal, but I was curious if anyone has ever saved seeds from their sweet peas. I didn't pick a lot of my flowers just to see what happens and I have lots of seed pods.

Am looking for storage suggestions. In the pod? Out? Freezer? Refrigerator? Carport? Plastic bag? Jar?

Any thoughts?

Not sure I follow what you mean here. I should sprout the sweet pea seeds, then freeze them, then dehydrate? Or do you mean sprout and then dehydrate. I'm confused, but that is a usual state for me!

They are all really dry already as the pods are popping open and revealing the little round seeds inside. I may just put them in a jar and then in the freezer. I'm just hoping they are viable and not some weird Roundup Sweet Pea that never reproduces!!

I've gone on and have found a couple of groups that deal in saving seeds. I think I'll join and see whazzup.

Thanks, Shari

after sprouting... either freeze or dehydrate... use them later... unless you're wanting to grow them in the spring.. then keep them dry. SV <shavig@...> wrote:
