I have always bought the whole lamp. I have two on my desk now that I bought

at Office Depot and spent $60 each for, and they are just desk size lamps. Well worth every penny, IMO. I remember when I brought the first one home, I had been doing a lot of computer work, hours and

hours at a time, and was really feeling the effects on my eyes. I bought the first Ott,

brought it home, plugged it in and when I turned it on and sat down in front of

the computer it was almost like my eyes went “Ahhhhh” I really could FEEL the difference in my

vision. I promptly went out and

bought a second light for the other side of my desk. (I work in a large horseshoe shaped desk)

I am setting up an accounting office and

just happened to be in Tuesday morning last week when they were starting a

sale. They had advertised a bunch

of Ott lights and by the time I got there, second day

of the sale, all but two were gone.

The store manager told me he had never seen anything sell like those

lights. What was left was one floor

lamp that was marked $150 and the regular price was close to $300. They also had a desk lamp that looked

like a square brick and one end flipped up and made a light and it was $40 –

I’ve seen this one at Office Depot for $65. That was all that was left at the store

but the ad showed all kinds of lamps, from bankers

lamps with green and yellow glass shades to desk lamps that were black and

brass metal to floor lamps.

It does help lots.

I went to Lamps Plus today and it was $40 just for one bulb. I'm glad I asked you and the others here for wisdom. I always run here before making foolish mistakes. You saw my eyeglass question. The optician wanted me to go with the UV and tint....I told him I need to check with my friends and now I can say no to UV and Tint. He thought I would get glacoma (sp?) if I didn't have the tint. I told him I don't see any purpose in tint at night since I mainly wear them for that drive anywhere. To bad it's $195 later and few days before I get too. Can't wait till I have total corrected vision naturally. Maybe the OTT will be that answer to prayer.

Thanks...so excited....wish the store was opened now....I will check with Office Depot if nothing left...must do something...
