Guest guest
Nice mix. Hadn't thought of adding aloe vera juice to one. I recently started adding lavender EO to a similiar mix of mine and it makes it much more appealling. Recently made a violet salve. Haven't had the opportunity to test it out though. Fortunately, no babies to smear it on.
Guest guest
Well, I've got two other salves to test first. I'm pretty happy with the basic salve of similiar recipe to yours of calendula, plantain, and comfrey. That was the first one I was taught and it seems to do okay for us. Adding the lavender was a good step up with it for me. Got another one, St.'swort, mint, and yarrow. This one is a kicker and my new carry salve. Haven't tried the two side by side but the new one helps with pain too. A friend of mine adds pine pitch to his mixes and I was amazed by how well it worked. He even used it as hair conditioner and his hair was awesomely soft. Don't know if that was due to the pine pitch or the nightshade he added (nightshade in salves on unbroken skin only). Don't remember his exact recipe though.
