Guest guest
This thinking scares me, plain and simple. I have enough energy to get up a 5:30 run 5 miles, nurse and take care of a toddler. I felt sluggish before I became a vegan, I have more energy now than I ever did. I was overweight and tired all of the time until I changed my diet. We could argue this forever and never agree on anything, I think that your way of eating is nuts and I am sure that you think the same of mine. To some people the way that they eat is almost like a religion to the ones that are trying to do it in a manner that they think is healthy, and we all know that there is no point in arguing religion. There are " experts " that say a vegetarian diet is best, there are " experts " that say a high protein/low or no carbs is best, some believe in everything in moderation, it is just what you feel works best for you and your body. I was a personal trainer before I became a Mom and I can tell you first hand that a body needs carbohydrates to function properly, without them you become sluggish and tired, especially if you work out. my answer: You became sluggish and tired because you ran out of blood sugar and could not shift into aerobic metabolism which means fat burning for energy. Your system was burning sugar for fuel instead of fat, that is why you got sluggish - you can't store enough sugar, it burns right off and then you're huffing and puffing, then your body has to eat itself up, breaking down protein in muscle to get your blood sugar back up. The carbs jsut put some more gas in your engine. DOn't tell me about training, what a crock. How's that for endurance. I treated a Cleveland Cavalier and got him off all that carbohydrate crap and he consistently outscored his teammates on the testing and nonone could ever figure that out because he was on the bench (DL) and wasn't getting theexercise the other guys were getting. someone wrote: Everyone is different, certainly, but there are a lot of lies out there about fat and protein. Likewise, if someone else has links or references to " experts " on the low carb side, I would be equally enthusiastic!! I am always interested in diet studies.
