Guest guest
I have just ordered the Isoprinosine. I have read that it is a very safe drug wiht few side affects. I am giong to begin on it as soon asa it arrives. Anyone know of any reason why it would be contraindicated to use with Gamma Globulin? a _________________________________________________________________ " Do me a favor, doc, tell me something good. Guest guest
They like to sell things in groups of 4 or 6 for a discounted price. Is it possible you are clicking on one that says $33 per bottle, group of 6 bottles? They do usually sell them singly as well. Cindi " C.Tab. But when I put in my order at about $33, the total comes to $200 or more. If anyone still uses this product, advice would be welcomed. Guest guest
, Colostrum definitely contains both lactose and casein. ImmunePro Rx has only a small amount of lactose, and I would imagine not very much casein, because casein is the protein in the curds fraction of milk, rather than the whey fraction. I don't know why you would respond the same to both of them. Perhaps you have bacterial overgrowth of your small intestine, so that some bacteria are fermenting nutrients in these products before your body is able to digest and absorb them. Guest guest
Take Immuneplus instead. I am lactose intolerant and can handle it. I think, and double check this, because am not sure, that it does not contain lactose. Guest guest
In response to 's earlier message about whey protein, I have a question. I am 2 1/2 years out and have lost 195 pounds. My first year tests were great but second year indicated I need more protein. I have to admit that I have NOT taken whey protein in a VERY LONG TIME but do try to eat alot of protein first before I eat anything else. One of the reasons I stopped was because everytime I took it, I got a terrible stomach ache and gas. So uncomfortable!!! I am lactose intolerant and can only eat yogurt if I take generic Lactaid pills. My question is: Can my lactose intolerance be the problem with my reaction to whey protein? If so, must I take the enzyme pills with it so I don't have a stomach ache? Can anyone recommend a brand or kind of whey protein that might not bother me as much? I know on this list there have been many, many discussions about whey protein but I have forgotten them so now that I have to fix my problem, I need more information. Wasn't there some website mentioned where we could buy trial sizes of protein to save money if we don't like them/can't tolerate them? Any help any of you folks can give me would be wonderful. Guest guest
, Whey IS a by-product of milk, so it certainly could be the lactose intolerance. Have you tried Soy protein? I've a friend who is Vegan and gets most of her protein from Soy products, including protein shake mix. She is totally lactose intolerant - has been since birth. She has no problen with Soy. Guest guest
There are other ways to get in protein without eating a lot of meats. Egg whites are all protein, and they are very low in fat and cholesterol. I make fried egg whites, and it goes down easy. Usually throw in 3 or 4 whites, a bit of butter or oil (small amount) and salt and pepper. Tastes good with Gatorade or juice, too! I think the whey is promoted b/c it is easily digested and there is a lot of protein in a small amount, but it is by no means the only protein source out there. Just my two cents... Guest guest
Hi, Cheap whey protein are often contaminated with large amounts of lactose and so can be hard on some people's stomachs. More expensive methods of separating the whey proteins leads to a lactose free formula. I like " Designer Whey " protein. Guest guest
I was using Designer Whey and I found the Sport Pharma Whey Protein at Costco for $19.99 so I bought it. I like it! It's kind of sweeter than Designer Whey (even though it has less sugars). I heard that it's similar to Optimum Whey. I think it's good, I'm not sure what to look for when buying a Whey Protein, but I've been loving the Costco one. They only had Vanilla when I went. I'm going this weekend and I hope they have the chocolate! > > Don't know if any of you ladies have Costcos in your town (like Sam's > Club, etc.) but I stopped by there over lunch, and they had 6lb tubs > of Whey protein- both chocolate and vanilla- for $19.99. Guest guest
The only things I look for when I buy whey is: - how many scoops do I need to use to get adequate protein - how low are the carbs, as I want to be able to add my carbs from fresh fruit I only buy natural or vanilla; it's simple to customize the flavoring with things I already have in the house, without having to buy so many different products: - add unsweetened baking cocoa - fresh/frozen strawberries - vanilla extract n At 09:07 AM 1/30/2006, you wrote: ><SNIP> I'm not sure what to look >for when buying a Whey Protein, <SNIP>

Guest guest
Or you may just have taken too much. Try a smaller dose. I believe Goatein would only be better if you are allergic to cow's milk. If you aren't allergic to milk but might be sensitive to lactose, try taking lactaid with the whey (as CS suggested). That helped my problems with bloating from the whey. Guest guest
Hi Janet, Well, two things come to mind. One is that you're having a strong reaction because it's working. It could be that you need to decrease the amount even more--I've read somewhere of some people starting with the amount on the end of a toothpick. The other is that you might be sensitive to whey in a bad way. I don't know much about this, but I know there is discussion of sulphur sensitivity and all the methylation stuff in the archives. If this is the case, I don't think Goatein will help because it still has the amino acids that cause these problems. If you are sensitive to milk in general, then trying Goatein would make sense, but it didn't sound like you are. Maybe someone who knows more about this will jump in.
