Guest guest
I've found that most undenatured whey products have sugar or sucralose in them. But there is a product Swansonvitamins.com sells that has no sugar. That's the one I purchased. But I haven't figured out what to take it in yet! Guest guest
I get the Whey Protein at Walmart. It is about 15.00 for a big tub. It has very little carbs and it taste good. I mix it in water then add ice to get it really cold. I use 2 scoops a day in a large glass of water. I did it everyday during treatment but now only do it when I have a strenous day!! Sara Whey protein I know there has been some discussion about Whey protein. Can someone, maybe Duncan, tell me more about what brand and doseage I would need to take? Guest guest
Two questions: Is " whey protein " the same as " undenatured whey protein " and do these protein powders from Walmart and Puritan's Pride contain all good ingredients? Little or, even better, no sugar, no sucralose, no nutrasweet, etc. Also, beware of certain flavors. Apparently the chocolate flavor from WalMart is absolutely awful, while the vanilla is quite palatable. If that is correct that you can get 5 two-pound tubs of Puritan's Pride for $28 dollars plus what, $3.95 shipping, that's a great deal-- -provided the stuff is drinkable and that the ingredients are okay. > > > > > > > I get the Whey Protein at Walmart. Guest guest
Well I have never ordered their Whey protein before but I do get vitamins from them--in fact I received my order last week for the buy 2 get three free sale. Awesome sale isn't it. And they do sales like that regularily. Sorry I can't give more details about it. Have you tried calling an operator there and asking if they can read the label to you to see how much sugar etc... is in it. Guest guest
Really see now I like the chocolate Whey protein from walmart. Guess it just shows everyone's taste is different. And I have no idea if Whey protein and undenatured whey protein is different. I would guess so. The stuff from walmart is more intended for athletes during training periods. Not as a meal replacement but as an addition to a meal. Don't know if that helps answer your question for not. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. It brings me to my next questions. Does Whey protein always come flavored? I'm concerned about added sugar and/or artificial flavoring. --- you_takethehighroad <aug20@...> wrote: > www.swansonvitamins.com often beats Puritan's Pride, > and they will > also match prices. Guest guest
: Different factories use differing approaches to yield varying qualities of undenatured whey from fresh milk; a few still take a denatured, boiled waste product and scavenge whatever high-value undenatured components are left in it. This explains the differences in profile. I have a few commercial links on my whey page for comparison as well as a detailed explanation of how to tell what you're buying. You'll find it to be a valuable resource, particularly when you see the glutathione references page. Gooogle glutathione references Crow to find it. Guest guest
Looks as if swansonvitamins.com has taken real care in preparing their undenatured whey. But it would be nice to find a cheaper source. Nice thing about swansonvitamins.com is that they allow one to return used product, if desired, and THEY pay return shipping. Guest guest
I believe it is not only whey protein, but other proteins like cheese which can keep sugar from spiking after a meal. My sis-in-law a dietician, told me to eat protein like cheese or nuts with fruits when i eat so that the sugar does not spike up. Tony, the left over protein in vco production is sometimes bought by cookie makers.

Guest guest
, xylose, galactose, mannose and fucose are essential sugars ending in -ose that are contained in whey protein. I think the site glycoscience.org would be the major source. These sugars are used in construction etc rather than burned. Guest guest
From what I understand, blood sugar is glucose sugar, so the presence of fructose sugar in blood is not counted as blood sugar. Fructose is metabolized in the liver, while glucose is metabolized by all living cells of the body. While most carbs are digested as glucose, fructose is not digested as glucose nor metabolized to glucose inside the body. Tony Alobar <Alobar@...> wrote: Fructose *IS* a simple carb, same as glucose. Guest guest
Hi Amy, This means any ingredient that ends with the letters " ose " - glucose, fructose, dextrose and forget the rest, but if it ends in ose, it is a form of sugar. It's a good thing to read all labels. It is hidden in many processed foods. in OH >>>i was wondering what is oses .because i am diabetic.and i was wondering why does the vco raise my blood sugars. but is it really good for us diabetics. amy
Guest guest
The problem is that fructose causes one's cells to become more insulin resistant. So even though fructose won't spike blood sugar levels, fructose is detrimental in the long-term. Guest guest
Alobar, this info is interesting, because we are eating much fructose from fruits. Fructose is fruit sugar. Why and how does fructose makes one's cells more insulin-resistant? Thanks. Tony Alobar <Alobar@...> wrote: The problem is that fructose causes one's cells to become more insulin resistant.
