Hi Ann,

What is his diet like now? How is he with raw fruits? Is he eating by

himself or are you having to force feed him? How is his activity level?

Does he read, watch TV or what are his interests? Sorry if some of

these questions seem absurd. Was he eating raw veggies before? Cooked?

Or a combination? Does he like smoothies? Is he eating all raw? Does he

have any amalgams in his teeth? Have you considered putting him through

a heavy metal detox? Tons of questions.

Don't know where all this will lead. Time will tell I suppose.

Peace be with you, Ann.

Hi Ann,

Have you considered trying Primal Defense? It is a soil based organisms

product. There is lots of good research being done with this protocol

and while it may not be being tested with autistic children is no reason

not to utilize it. Then too you might consider Fulvic Acid or Shilajit.

You know Ann, here is a site that you may have already run across.

http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/overview.htm#oils

There is a ton of information about health in general. Some reading

material for you. I can give you many other great sites with lots of

reading material concerning nutrition and health.

Would it be okay with you if I contact you off list? Do let me know.

Peace be with you, Ann.

Do you have him in an ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) program?  My son is almost 4 and was diagnosed with autism about 16 months ago.  He has been receiving 25 hours of ABA therapy at home, plus speech therapy, plus services at a special ed preschool.  This combination of services has helped him tremendously.  His language and social skills are still about a year behind, but he is making steady progress.  If you're not familiar with ABA and are interested, feel free to email me offlist. We tried GFCF and gobs of supplements and saw no change.  We are still Gluten and Casein limited, but still no change.  We dropped his supplements and found some of his behaviors to get better, particularly when we dropped a multivitamin called Spectrum Complete.  We suspect it was the Grapeseed Extract in that vitamin that he was not tolerating.Just sharing a different perspective...RoseOn Oct 19, 2005, at 12:59 AM, Don Quai wrote: Brad and Ann wrote: > I don't think I've ever shared the particulars on the other list. > His autism is a product of modern American medicine, marketing, and > me. > He had lots of antibiotics, all his vaccinations, a horrible diet > (sugar, soy formula and some more sugar) and lots of Tylenol etc. > He was ok until about 18 mos and his development plateaued.  Of > course, the ped neurologist and all the other professionals we saw > immediatly pulled out the prescribtion pad. > We left the medical community when he was about 8 and I started > reading everything I could get my hands on regarding autism. > He's been GFCF and spec carb and we only saw a small improvment. > He's 14(puberty from he%@), non verbal and low functioning.  He had a > great diet for about 3 years(from about age 10-13)but now I can't > remember the last time he ate a veggie.  I'm trying to find as many > nutrient dense foods that I can and also, healthy stuff that will > fill him up.  Of course, I have to get it down him. > He's been taking strong enzymes (Houston)for about 2 months and has > improved a lot in regards to aggression and hyperactivity. > Thanks, > Ann ============================ Hi Ann, Have you considered trying Primal Defense? Thank you, Suzi! It makes me smile every day; he is an amazing

little boy! He still has so far to go, but we will continue to work

our tails off to help him reach his highest potential. Love is a

powerful motivator, eh?

Pleasant evening to all,

Rose
